The second main installment of the BlazBlue series of fighting games, continuing Ragna's tale of manipulated time while revamping some of the original game's gameplay systems.
8 dollars seems like a bit much. i mean, you could buy Doom on xbox live for less than that. although i've heard positive things about the character so it seems justified.
But seriously, I think it depends on how much you're likely to play the game and how interested you are in the new character. If the answer to both is "lots" then $8 is pretty cheap. If not, you aren't required to buy them in order to play the game online, plus you have the added bonus of still being able to play against them online even if you didn't buy them.
Again, I look at this in the same way that I look at the whole "coins" thing for Madden. The kind of folks that will be playing BlazBlue aren't going to be a ton of casual players. This game reaches out to a very specific crowd: the fighting game crowd. In turn, this is their hobby, and $8 for a character is investing in that hobby...ESPECIALLY if they are going to main that character and play the fuck out of the game with that character.
I really wish that people looked at the way that DLC is being handled nowadays in a slightly different manner.
Who needs new characters? All you need is Noel. And maybe Ragna.
Depends if all it adds is the new character playable in vs, or if it adds it in the other modes, and adds a whole story section for them, and other stuff.
DLC characters are playable in vs. However, there is no Arcade or Story mode for them. Or at least not Makoto. I am not sure if they are usable in Legion mode. My guess would be no.
to be honest, I thought $8 was too much for a character. however after I acquired Makoto, I believe it totally is worth the $8 you get the character, trophies, her challenges, and all the DLC colors.
only thing I'd wish is that she gets part in arcade mode and story...
