BMX Racers is a vertical scrolling racing game for the Commodore 64 and Commodore 16 computers. There are two distinct versions of the game:
In the Commodore 64 version, the player controls a bicycle around obstacles through an infinite number of outdoor courses. Each stage scrolls faster, but the bike movement does not increase in speed, making stages past six extremely challenging. There is only one life, and score is based entirely on the length of time before crashing into an obstacle. The game could be considered a very early predecessor to the "endless runner" genre.
The Commodore 16 version is similar, but with several more game mechanics. The player must collect flags before reaching the end of a course, and has an energy meter which must be replenished before running out, with energy pods scattered throughout the five stages. The Commodore 16 version also features three lives.
