Just got to sanctuary again have 20k health/shields total and the difficulty has normalized a bit, tho it's still tougher then the first play through, at least so far.

The best part about playthrough 2 is that there are actually new types of enemies (it's not just bigger numbers like in the first game), billymongs that do corrosive novas, armored psychos.

Yeah Captain Flynt got me, but only once. But then the second mission Zed gives you where you have to go after that rogue doctor... just damn it. To make things worse I'm getting awful drops, mostly white or green. Either it's bugged or Borderlands 2 hates me. Anyway it will get better I guess, but I was really bummed out when I found out that Crazy Earl didn't sell additional backpack/bank slot upgrades.

Just found this beauty of a grenade mod.

It flies through the air like a rocket (i.e. unaffected by gravity), homes onto the enemy, sticks to them, and then explodes into more grenades killing everyone else around him.

This gun doesn't look like much at first considering that it only requires level 13 but I'm level level 19 at the mo and this gun is still chewing threw enemies and defeating bosses with no ease. I've used guns with much higher damage rating than this but this does way more than a rocket with over 2000 damage thanks to its 20 bullet clip, decent fire rate and good reload.

Fuck, that's sweet. I wish they described the way the grenades throw a bit - they can be pretty crazy sometimes.

@TheDudeOfGaming: I found that making Goliaths level up to God status usually nets some good drops. Takes a bit of time tho.

So far a God-Goliath has always dropped a purple for me and a few other items some blues.They are ridiculous easy to kill, just hard to keep them alive until they level up lol.

Now, they're pretty good. Nothing amazing though. However, combine them with this:

And I'm ripping absolutely everything apart! Amp damage with no drain, and an insane recharge? Yeah, this'll last me a while.

I finally got to a point in the game where good stuff is starting to show up. I'm getting near the end, and there's a particular boss fight in the story that dropped a ton of good stuff. Unfortunately, since I'm playing on a console I don't have a good way to post the gun car card screen. The best thing that dropped was a purple Vladof auto-pistol, called the Purging Anarchist. 582 DMG, 86.7 accuracy, 10.4 fire rate, and a 46 round magazine. This thing was making pretty quick work of even the toughest enemies I've killed since then. It chews through ammo super fast, but the DPS output is well worth it.

I just found this crazy rocket launcher.

I know other than the reduced ammo it doesn't look special at all, but you don't actually have to hit what you're aiming at with it. The rocket launcher fires a big kind of slow moving purple ball, and when it hits it creates these blue dome things on enemies in the vicinity automatically hitting them. It's basically the BFG from DOOM. Here images:

Always check your purples even if they don't look special.

Just beat the game, and on the way found a couple new items...

Really good to see that orange and unique items extend to every type of gear. I think this is our first orange class mod in the thread.

I got my first orange todat its called the Dandy Volcano, its one of those incendiary snipers w/ the red text Pele humbly demands a sacrifice.

I was literally still tearing things away at lv 20 and you could shoot all day with 57 shots in the clip, but I took it even further with my Siren and added about 30% more to the magazine size with my mod, bad ass skills, and normal skill tree that only had a few points into increasing mag size.

This one goes out to the people who think that vendor machines aren't worth checking.

Ok WTF is going on, i logged out after getting that orange Duke Nukem bazooka, I come back in and find another orange in a vending machine o.O

It's got shitty stats for a grenade of that level. But it's kind of funny.

It's a grenade that shoots bullets and keeps throwing other grenades out.

Well this is what I took down the Warrior with. This pistol has bullets that cause a corrosive detonation after hitting an enemy, also the burst fire is enough to kill a loader.

Magenta is just a shade of purple. It's a rare, the darker the color the more rare the item.

Just finished the game the other night & started TVH mode (playing duo as siren, brother as zerker). Not sure if it drops every time but my brother got Handsome Jack's Face from the final boss.

Drops in TVH are straight up like playing a new WoW expansion where even white/green drops are probably better than whatever normal mode epic you're using.

To clarify, magenta is e-tech weaponry, basically just an epic with an elemental effect and oddly behaving projectiles. Most (if not all) of the ones I've found are darts that kind of home in on the target and deal their damage about a second after hitting the target.

@dudeglove: Yep, this is normal, the game holds off on corrosion and shock for a bit, i think they start showing up around 15-29ish don't remember exactly tho.

seems normal ... from what I can tell you mostly get fire weapons at the start ... im level 16 now and started to find corrosice and shock weapons a couple of levels ago ... at first mostly grenade mods.

@Tennmuerti: I have the first two guns from her. How much do you think you had to tip in the end for that sexy pistol?

@Savutano: The pistol is from a quest later on and you have to choose Moxxi's side to hand in, there are two quests like that. Only the SMGs are for tipping.

@dudeglove: Shootng them in the fuel tank will also kill them and damage anyone nearby.

I think I got this gun from using my golden key. Made all of the Hyperion fights incredibly easy.

Since I just only managed to remember this thread and find the "inspect" option in-game, time to contribute!

I just found an amazing orange Tediore shotgun. Normally I hate Tediore weapons because I keep forgetting you throw th and they explode when you r

eload and I like to reload a lot behin cover. This gun is absolutely balls out insane, if you don't fire all the rounds before reloading it will chase enemies around using up the rest of the rounds and them explode.

It dropped from Pimon and/or Tumba in the animal exploitation preserve along with another orange shield. The usefulness of which I am yet to discover.

Actual stats that I've figured out:

• Does 576 damage
• Does 9255 damage on crits (so it must have some crazy crit modifier)
• Has a 12 round magazine but reloads fast
• Fires pretty fast
• Actually does do slag damage (it wasn't a lie!)
• Hits with the gun cause me to regenerate health

The downside is the bullets fall in a downwards arc and then bounce off the ground and surrounding walls. So I can't use it at long distances, but it's fantastic for close quarters. I'm not sure why this isn't a purple, unless that's also a lie.

This gun pretty much destroys everything right now.
