Bowsley is Hector LeMans' botanist, which means he creates biological weapons to "sprout" people. Perhaps a botanist when he was alive, Bowsley does not like death and considers plants to be beautiful and a symbol of life - contrary to what most people in the Land Of The Dead think.
A very nervous and easily frightened person, Bowsley quits his job when he believes Hector is coming to sprout him. Bowsley hides out in his underground florist shop, scared of everything. However, when Manny enters his shop, ringing the bell on the door, Bowsley is reminded of his previous life and is happy to sell Manny a "bouquet" - a gun.
