Brian Cox was born in Dundee in 1946 and studied at the London Academy of Music and Art before starting to a career that spanned stage and screen. His first major screen role was in the 1986 film Manhunter, where he became the first actor to play infamous serial killer Hannibal Lector (spelt Lektor in this film only).
Since then Cox has gone onto star in such films as Braveheart, The Bourne Supremacy, 25th Hour, Red Eye, Rise of Planet of the Apes and X2 (X-men 2).
Cox has also voiced a number of video game characters including Lionel Starkweather (Manhunt), Scholar Visari (Killzone franchise) and Jack Dehnam (Syndicate).
