    As with many small towns in the Pacific Northwest, Bright Falls' purpose has dwindled over time. It was once a thriving mining and logging town, but since the closure of Bright Falls Coal Mine, the town has become more and more deserted.
     
    Hugely inspired by the TV-show Twin Peaks, Remedy's graphical department actually travelled to the locations the TV-show were filmed back in 1990 to try and capture the exact same feel of the town. Bright Falls is a small town where everybody knows everybody and the town's development has come to a standstill.
