    Brutes have their own version of the Plasma Rifle: the Brute Plasma Rifle. Red in color and typified by a higher shield and flesh damage rate, this variation is even more prone to overheating. Its redeeming quality is the fact that it will stun opponents briefly. The Brute Plasma Rifle was removed in Halo 3, but returned for Halo 3: ODST.
