Sadly I got a massive Borderlands feel from the game. But it seems to have a nice sort of constant action I love in games. Not to mention what look like some fun ways to kill.
Interesting mechanic, kinda similar to Arkham Asylum. The hard part is balancing it without making it feel pointless. The game still has to be beatable even for the guy that is just killing everything ASAP, whilst still making it worthwhile for the regular player that wants to play along with the mechanic. I don't think Arkham was entirely successful at that - I guess I kinda tried to keep my multiplier up, but I knew they couldn't punish me for failing, or reward me that much, without breaking the game. That will be the tricky part for these guys too; making the rewards feel worthwhile without breaking the game.
Still, it'll be nice to a see a proper 90s style FPS again. I think co-op is a must with something like this nowadays though. This could easily be a modern Serious Sam, and the mechanic seems to lend itself to crazy co-op moves. I guess it depends whether the scoring opportunities are totally contrived, or if they feel more dynamic.
