    Let The Bullets Fly 1

Some first person shooters are slow-paced, realistically driven, and feature tactical gun play. Bulletstorm has none of those elements, but what it lacks it makes up for in over-the-top comical shooting craziness. Unlike other games in the genre, this new fps title from Epic Games and People Can Fly breaks all of the rules in order to provide players with a fun and unique gaming experience. You will blast your enemies away with a variety of flesh-ripping weapons and use a high powered leash to w...

Hey! This review ain't gonna read itself! 5

In a sea of realistic, military and usually very dull looking first person shooters, here comes Bulletstorm trying to inject some fun - and most importantly, color - into the landscape. If you're a fan of non-serious FPS's like Serious Sam, Duke Nukem or Painkiller, then Bulletstorm's right up your alley since it's crass, brash, violent and is apparently so filled with awesome, if it were a chick, you'd wanna fuck it. (I'm gonna try to not swear as crazy as the game does but no promises). Howeve...

    Kill with skill 3

Bulletstorm is to modern military first-person shooters what Red Alert is to World War II-strategy games. It feels as much like a parody of the super serious, military-jargon spouting games that rule the genre these days as it feels like a throwback to a time when 'fragging' was accepted parlance. It's ridiculous in almost every way, but with a wink and a knowing nod. It has a certain charm almost entirely missing from today's self-serious shooters, which is most welcome.  Kill with skill, ag...

Bulletstorm is a dickload of fun. 1

During the past few years the FPS market has been dominated by one juggernaut franchise, Call of Duty. Ever since Infinity Ward released Call of Duty 4 back in 2007, the franchise has grown to be the biggest selling entertainment franchise of all time and widely acclaimed by players and critics worldwide. This lightning in a bottle that is Call of Duty’s success has been sought after by many a developer, some outright attempting to emulate it in their own games. People Can Fly however have no in...

    Bringing Duke's Boot Back 0

The gist of Bulletstorm's plot is revenge.  Nothing else to it really so do not come here looking for an engrossing story.  Instead, come here to play.  Bulletstorm's gameplay mechanics are one of the reasons you should give this a go.  The controls feel responsive in this solid title that emphasizes trying different methods for taking down your enemies.  You will go from the simple headshot to the not-as-obvious "thump", kick, "thump", and leash a man's head off.  Does the phrase "not-so-obviou...

    A Ruined Life in 8 Hours 0

Ok so there's really not a big point in doing another treatment on how good bulletstorm looks, how they made the unreal engine do something different for once, or how the gameplay is addictive and fun (and different).  Let's just say, language aside this game is a refreshing bucket of cold water on my sleepy video game soul.  So I'm satisfied.  Lets talk about this game as narrative for a moment.  Bulletstorm (the story) is about a man very much liike LOST's Sawyer- betrayed to his very core in ...

Gears of War it Ain't... 5

It may come from the same developers. It may have kinda similar-looking gruff men. You may not be able to jump (Seriously?? What is Epic's aversion to jumping??). But Bulletstorm is definitely a whole new game. Gears of War it ain't. In fact, I haven't really played a game quite like it. Especially in the carnage department.  You play as a band of space pirates, betrayed by their government and leader, and now hunted throughout the galaxy. You get brought up to speed by a fun, prolonged prologue...

This is not your everyday FPS (Single Player Review) 0

Bulletstorm is a nonstop action packed filled ride of gunplay and excitement.   The developer People Can Fly has put together an interesting experience and experiment that tests what a first person shooter can be.   Does this is experiment into a genre that is filled with some many contenders able to hold up against the best of them?     You play as Grayson Hunt a member of an elite ex-squad called Dark Echo, who was once head by General Serrano.   You learn early on that the guys of Dark Ech...

    A Murdery Good Time 0

Dicktits, kill your dick, scared my dick off, get murdery, Waggleton P. Tallylicker. These are some of phrases one would have the pleasure of hearing should they decide to play Bulletstorm.  Out of context they sound awful, grabbing random crass  terms and interchangeably throwing them together. But honestly it makes sense in a Bulletstormy sort of way, seriously . The concept is simple; kill every screaming psychopath in every way thinkable with your ridiculous arsenal, like a four-barreled sh...

    GOTY 2011 0

One of the more eagerly anticipated titles of 2011 is out. The minds behind the outstanding Painkiller series paired up with Epic as part of EA Partners to put out a new style of FPS. Gone are the days of precise aiming for head shots...and welcome Bulletstorm. Yes, there is a Gears of War 3 online beta but I didn't care about it before I played it and I don't care about it now. And this is from a guy who really enjoyed Gears 2. Bulletstorm's single player mode --- which is the majority ...

    On Bulletstorm 4

Disclaimer: This is not a traditional review, it's more of an investigation. If you comment, I'm especially interested in what you think of the prose, since I'm no native speaker.  It might not be apparent why Bulletstorm is fun and not just another repetitive, uninspired simulator of power fantasies. Well, it's still about projecting your ego into movable objects until they explode, but it also has some great craft to it. It's a FPS with fresh weaponry, interesting movement and control options,...

A return to roots, with a twist 0

Epic Games and their Polish subsidiary, People Can Fly, have decided to bring the first person shooter genre back to its roots-- with over the top action, insane killing and mayhem with powerful weapons and a new twist on the genre. Bulletstorm is a return to old school FPS games. Big guns, big explosions and big buckets of blood are intrenched in Bulletstorm's design. In fact, it's so old school, there's no jump button.  But, Bullestorm also adds new mechanics with its skill shot premise. To fa...

    Bromance? 0

I really loved this game, even tough no normal human should. It's bloody, foul and just a mess of profanities over and over again, and I could not stop playing it.  The graphics is nice, tough you kinda get bored of the "everything is destroyed"-look after a while. Yes, everything is destroyed, or dirty.  Sound is awesome, there are lots of dicks in this game and if you take it for what it is, a parody, then it works.  Controls are tight with a keyboard and mouse and the gameplay is really fun. ...

    Skill(Shots) for Kills Agen..er Space Pirates! 0

Bulletstorm is all about killing people in crazy ways to rack up a nice score no matter what mode you're playing through. Thanks to the strength of Grayson Hunt, you can kick and slide into foes launching them into the air, where you can string together some nice combinations that will further your kill count and score. You'll hear lots of bad language here, and blood & gore aplenty, but it's all done in good  health here and great way to to just let go of the realism games are trying to ach...

    Shoot to Thrill 0

Bullet Storm was the most fun I've had with shooter in a long time. I also love that the game didn't care if I was following the story, as long as I was having fun. That said it was straight forward and fast paced. Sadly I picked this game up super late and only payed $20 for it. I would have payed full price and I don't think I'm alone. We all overlooked this game yet we all NEED to give it a try.Pros - Awesome gun play, you can Duke boot people, the characters are freaking awesome and voiced a...

Kill With Skill...More Like The Longest Dick Joke Ever. 0

Bulletstorm is probably the biggest game I've played now that I've been torn on deciding what to give it.  On one end you have a crazy, over-the-top first person shooter that sports some of the raunchiest killing this side of Duke Nukem.  Yet the game is so muddled down with mundane and downright awful potty jokes, that it loses the style I was hoping for.  Look I'm all for a good dick joke or two, but Bulletstorm does nothing but speak about such things...and it's something that gets extremely ...

    Bulletstorm Review 0

With all of the controversy surrounding “Bulletstorm” I expected the game to be extreme over the top profanity all the time with no story; I was wrong. I am really enjoying the game, whether it is the story or the gunplay. This game is being made out to be the devil of all video games and that it makes people molest each other because of its infamous skillshot innuendos. The game itself is fun and interesting, but nothing we haven’t seen in regards to the mindless shooting. If you enjoy shoote...

    The Bulletstorm Uncertainty Principle 0

In the supper of video gaming, first-person shooters are the red meat: bloody, delicious, and unlikely to be dethroned as our dominant form of sustenance, no matter how many heart attacks they cause. Our latest helping of hamburger is Bulletstorm, an FPS from People Can Fly (makers of Painkiller) and Epic Games (of Gears of War fame). Following the adventures of Grayson Hunt—a former assassin turned space pirate and part-time Christian Slater impersonator—Bulletstorm invites you the abandon...

More Than Just Another FPS 0

Judging on first impressions, you could be forgiven for thinking that Bulletstorm is a largely unremarkable shooter, with a couple of unconventional mechanics thrown in for novelty’s sake; The humour is immature, the characters appear generic, and it takes about an hour before the game lets up on it’s plot dumping and simplified gameplay to actually introduce the key mechanics which really make things interesting. However, once you get beyond Bulletstorm’s potentially cringeworthy dialogue and w...

Vociferous and vehement in every way 2

Spitting molten curses at a rate that would certainly make Jerry Sadowitz proud, Bulletstorm crashes into the cosy FPS genre spraying broken glass and mutants aplenty. The entrance is vociferous and vehement in every way, nonchalantly swinging at anything in the way but some how also managing to charm with a remarkable lick of charisma that would make Huge Jackman blush. Bulletstorm then proceeds to kick its closest modern shooter rivals squarely in the face and keeps on shooting as they fly ove...

General Sarrano, apart of the Confederation of Planets, is the antagonist here and apart of the secret army, Dead Echo. He leads groups of soldiers into missions that slaughter innocent victims. Years ago our hero, Grayson Hunt, discovers he's been lied to so he decides to take revenge on Sarrano. Years after the event, alcoholic Grayson decides to fight a battle with hired mercenaries to battle Sarrano, only to end up crash landing (with Sarrano) on the planet Stygia. So now Grayson ...

A dumb arcade shooter that tries too hard yet falls wide of mark 0

Bulletstorm is a dumb game. Not saying this is a bad thing, Bulletstorm isn't abominable or anything to that degree. On the contrary, Bulletstorm is one of the few surviving arcade focused shooters: a score-line built, full tilt shooter its developers People Can Fly could only deliver. Even so, it falls slightly wide of the mark. The reason for this is that it tries too hard being something else. The game is healthy in story and cut-scenes, which really shouldn't be present in the gameplay at al...

    BOOM! 0

Bulletstorm is the new first-person shooter developed by People Can Fly, the studio that gave you Painkiller. This game was told to be a break from serious shooters such as the Call of Duty and the Halo series. The game is pretty fun. Shooting people in their buttholes is pretty satisfying, but the game is very repetitive. You have to do the same things over and over again. Shoot this dude, leash this things down, kick down this door etc. On the bright side, the skillshot system is a rea...

A veritable tempest of projectiles. 0

I was initially quite skeptical about Bulletstorm, I was intrigued by the concept of Skillshots but my main concern was if it would be varied enough to last me a long time without getting tedious. And I'm more then happy to report that this answer is "YES." StoryYou're playing the role of Grayson Hunt, an ex-member of Dead Echo, a squad of highly trained soldiers, which were also used for assassinations. After killing your latest target, one of your squadmembers finds out that all the targets yo...

Not enough Bullets for a Storm 0

Skillshots galore. With a title like Bulletstorm you know what you're in for. Lots of shooting, a heap of violence and probably a game that doesn't take itself too seriously. On this basic premise Bulletstorm delivers in spades but beyond that seems to have an identity crisis. There's no one area in which it really excels and it even commits the cardinal sin of shooters (there's no competitive multiplayer). Between juggling an innovative campaign, an unique scoring system and a co-op multiplaye...

For some, not for many. 0

Gameplay is fun. Don't be misled by my other opinions. There's a good amount of fun to be had in the process of exploration. I don't think that the extensive options for custom play really make the game all that replayable, rather just very adaptable to different play styles. I'm a run, gun, and soak up bullets type... I tried to find as many ways to achieve that kind of brutality as possible. I didn't care to go back and play through again, as I would have just played it the same way.   As far ...

    Kick Punch Boom Fart 0

To say that Bulletstorm isn't for everyone is something that is pretty obvious by now.  This game is definitely trying to have as much 'pulp' as possible.  With its mix of insane violence and potty mouth talk that is far more dick in cheek rather than tongue, it's easy to understand how someone can be turned off of a game that is constantly trying to turn you on.  That said there is plenty here to keep coming back for.  With multiple ways to dismember enemies and a terrain that is really beautif...

Nice Change for FPS Shooter, But Doesn't Hold Long 0

Bulletstorm is a fun romp through a destroyed world with a couple of guys who apparently are still twelve years old in their language development cycle. The game takes place on a beautiful alien world after our heroes crash onto it. The game is nothing short of gorgeous to look at with its super saturated colors. You will find yourself traversing through deserts, forest,s busted buildings, electrical fields, etc. The environments are straight up fun as well as they should be with the style of ga...

I got the chance to play this game's demo and felt completely overwhelmed by all the stuff that I felt you needed to do, but I decided to give the full game a chance just to see if I would have the same experience. Several years after going rogue he sees the chance to take down the man who sent them on all...

Bulletstorm Review: To kill a dick 0

Bulletstorm is a first person shooter and places you in the role of Grayson Hunt, a former soldier turned space pirate. It feels like a parody of many other modern fps games, with its ridiculous humour and style. The game takes place on the planet of Stygia, after Gray and his crew attack the ship commanded by his former commanding officer and nemesis, General Sarrano, causing both ships to crash on the planet. It quickly becomes apparent that the planet they are trapped on is filled with hostil...

A perfect game for the 13-year old in me 0

I get the criticisms leveled against Bulletstorm's ridiculous, completely over-the-top dialogue.  I know there are a dozen groan-worthy moments in the game.  And you know what?  I don't care!  The game is pretty damn hilarious, and has a certain panache for male testerone-fueled moments that really haven't been seen to this degree since Duke Nukem 3D.From a pure gameplay perspective, you'd think the gimmick of "kill with skill" would get boring after a while.  But with the various weapons introd...

    This game is fun 0

This lady is in the game. Bulletstorm is a fun game. It's also really pretty. There's a big Godzilla dinosaur you get to fight with a helicopter. That's a pretty NEAT part. I like that you can slide into dudes then leash them then kick them then shoot them while they are in the air. And their bodies can land on a cactus. Then the BLOOD comes out. That part is fun. The people in this game say the work "dick" a lot. That's funny. They also talk about murder a lot. MURDER. Which is cool, I gues...

    Bulletstorm Review 0

I’ve been called many things, but “dick-tits” was not a title designated to me before Bulletstorm came around. I’ll admit, I was a little shocked at the audacity of such a direct attack at the hardcore audience, but maybe that’s why I admire this game. It attempts to set itself apart from popular shooters, and succeeds in many ways. And for a game that spouts more obscenity than Deadwood, Bulletstorm actually manages to give an intriguing, yet brief glimpse into a surprisingly realized world and...

    Strap in Cock-Face! 0

Summary: When I first heard of Bulletstorm, I had little idea what to expect. It seemed like Gears of War, with the gameplay mechanics of The Club. Lo and behold, this is almost exactly what it turned out to be, just with a little alcohol thrown into the mix and no cover system. The main objective of the game is to murder with as much style as possible. This earns you skill points, which allows you to purchase ammo and upgrades. The "style" these points are earned with ranges, f...

Putting the GAME back into the FPS 0

Ever since, we put down that first armed zombie with a pump action shotgun on a remote Martian base overrun by the demonic forces of Hell, it was proven that the act of virtual redemptive violence was a wholly gratifying experience as well as a lucrative new genre. Now, nearly fifteen years after the release of Doom, where Halo and Call of Duty have popularized the first person shooter upon the consoles, 2011 is shaping up to be the year of the shooter with no less than 10 major titles ...

besides this game is awesome. Have found really nothing i would change to much. Controls are good, feels nice. Wish it was just slightly more open but other than that, fantastic game.      Bullestorm places you in the combat boots of one Grayson Hunt, former military bad ass turned space pirate badass who has a score to settle with his old boss after finding out he'd been manipulating his team into killing innocents. The story isn't why you'll play Bulletstorm, that being said it isn't half bad. Bulletstorm: A Refreshing Take On a Modern Shooter 0

Bulletstorm starts off like many of the bland first person shooters on the market.   You play as a boring marine type pumping lead into generic targets for reasons that you don’t understand or care about.   However simplistic and boring the beginning of the game is it serves a point as the game transitions into an entertaining point fest of killing with skill utilizing humor to make this one hell of a memorable game.   Bulletstorm is not one of those shooters you will be quick...

Bulletstorm is quite possible the most immature game in recent memory.  Yet, I honestly felt compelled to keep playing it.  Here is a game that honestly just doesn't give a fuck and just goes for it.  The dialogue sounds like it was written by an angry 12-year old, the game just dumps you into insanity right away and waves of mutants pounce on your from every direction.  It’s just a damn exciting and exhilarating game to play even if it is really shallow experience aside from the Skillshot sys...

Solid title betrayed by its end game and story 0

There are lots of good things about Bulletstorm, a modern, gory, vulgar FPS with a beautiful color palette, interesting level design, and a focus on very specific gameplay to boot.  I'm sure you're aware of the SkillShot system.  Multiple weapons with unlockable secondary fire that awards skill points for successful, and specific, shots and combinations.  Grab the pistol, blast a flare into a group of enemies, then thump them into the air as they're on fire, and take them out one by one and watc...

Bulletstorm is 5 flavors of awesome. I truly loved everything about this game except for the crushing realization after I beat the game that I couldn't play through again with all my weapons/upgrades unlocked. I am still in shock that the people who made this game didn't think to put that feature in the game, but I'll get over my disappointment. If you like shooters, but are tired of the same-as-last-year feel that Halo and COD offers up, Bulletstorm is your game. As far as the shooting of men genre of video games go, there are very few of these on the current crop of consoles that do not utilize the aiming down the sights/scope kind of method for shooting all the men/monsters/aliens/zombies in their ugly faces. Bulletstorm is at first glance no different: You start out with a rather ordinary assault rifle with which you start shooting men, just like in Call of Duty, Killzone and other popular shooting games that appeal to manly fantasies about weapons an...
