So, decided to make use of those custom slots by actually naming the ones I had configured. Like my Assault kit. Only ... oh, no we're afraid you can't do that. You submitted text that is banned!
Seriously? Nobody at any point in the QA process ever tried creating a loadout called "assault" during the entire development of the game? It seems like something almost everyone would have done, by default, very early on. And no, A.ssault isn't allowed, either. Nor is A$$ault.
Call of Duty: Black Ops

***ault
It's OK to have a game where you put glass in a guy's mouth then punch it but you can't say 'ass.' Typical American response.
At least it's not automatically renamed "Blam". That was also the first class name i tried.... now known as Rifle.
But they put in icons in your emblem that you easily can make into penises?
Seriously, if they didn't put the sock in there to be used as a penis, why the hell else would they put a SOCK in there? And a drop? C'mon. There's even a "number three" that totally looks like a pair of cojones.

" It's OK to have a game where you put glass in a guy's mouth then punch it but you can't say 'ass.' Typical American response. "It's even worse considering
1. The campaign has bad language "I can't fucking get these fucking god damn numbers out of my FUCKING HEAD"
2. NO ONE SEES YOUR CLASS NAMES ANYWAY. Unless they do? I'm 95% sure no one sees them.
3. Then obviously, no one gives a shit if they do anyway.
That's supremely stupid of them not to think of. By the way, does anyone know why words are banned in rated M games? Can someone explain that please?
"Hmm. in MW2 I was able to have my clan tag as "FUCK" on PSN, but not on 360.
"
That's because the 360 community is more sensitive to such obscene language.
I must have slit like 5 guys throats in that game at least and I can't put 'fart' as my clan tag? I understand blocking racist tags but 'fart' who the hell is offended by the word 'fart' in fact I think there are probably a lot of kids movies with frequent uses of the word 'fart'. I will protest until the word 'fart' is allowed or I die, whichever comes first.
In MW2 I named by loadouts, Shit, Poop, Caca, Feces, and Crap with no problems. What does it matter anyway? You're the only one that will ever see YOUR loadouts, right? Ridiculous.
" It's OK to have a game where you put glass in a guy's mouth then punch it but you can't say 'ass.' Typical American response. "It's actually Microsoft automatically censoring anything that is typed on their console. It has nothing to do with the game or it's rating.
But you had to go and attack a nationality for something that you didn't understand, didn't you?
RELATED: I just got Halo: Reach and was immensely disappointed that you can't have your callsign be anything even REMOTELY "'profane," such as "8008," "BUTT," etc. I ended up going with "RUMP." Yeah, you sure don't want people using naughty language in a game where every word uttered out loud that isn't "fuck" is "nigger," right? :\

1) Read my post, which can be found above yours.
2) Turn your voice chat options to "friends only" and never have to put up with hearing some stupid, racist, foul-mouthed, white-trash kid over Xbox Live again.
" @takua108 said:I do have voice chat turned off entirely, I'm just saying that it's there to hear. And I'm not attacking the developers, I'm saying it's dumb of Microsoft to censor stupid things like that and not censor voice-chat. You can be incredibly profane vocally, but you can't type "8008" on an M-rated game. I'm sure it's easier for them to have a global policy regardless of ESRB rating, but that doesn't stop it from being lame. Please do yourself two favors: 1) Read my post, which can be found above yours. 2) Turn your voice chat options to "friends only" and never have to put up with hearing some stupid, racist, foul-mouthed, white-trash kid over Xbox Live again. Last time I checked I had a class in MW2 named "assault" with no issue. Meanwhile you took the bait on an inflammatory statement." @HandsomeDead said:

What's odd is that they name one of THEIR classes "assault" and that's okay. But you're not allowed to call your custom class "assault". Of course, I guess you probably wouldn't be allowed to use the word "class", either...

That is kinda funny tbh, I just tested it out and it accepts "ASSWORLD" but not "ASSAULT"
The fact that some of you are getting so worked up about it though really shows how petty and childish you are. I'm starting to think it might be a purposeful joke from Treyarch tbh...
EDIT: Accepts ASSAAULT too...in fact it'll take almost any variation on the word.
EDIT 2: Just for the lulz, it will also accept TASTYASS, seriously think this might be a pretty amusing little Treyarch joke.
Exactly. I tried naming a file last night that had the word "dick" in it and it wouldnt let me. I agree shouldn;t it be OK since it" Wow, really? What's the game rated again? "
M for Mature and kids shouldn't be playing it technicaly anyway. Although to be fair putting "dick" as a title isn't exactly mature :( But if its your load-out title who the F**K else is going to be able to read it?
