Hey guys, 
I just rented Black Ops for ps3, and lets just say the textures look like they're from the ps2 era. What gives? I played the game on a friend's ps3, game looked good, but it doesnt on my tv. I'm playing on HDMI btw.

It's not just you, the game looks really bad for everyone.
 
Plus if your TV is bigger than your friends, the game would look worse.

So its not a problem with the console? I have to point out that its vanilla Black ops, no patches, since I got no PSN connection, does that have something to do with it?

256mb gpu, that's all the memory it has to work with, half of what the xbox 360 can do. Lots of ppl will lie saying they can use both XDR and the vram, that's not demonstrated and most developers talks about this bottleneck. So that's why the textures looks like it's from the ps2 and always worst for multiplatform games.

Are the tvs the same size? Playing on a bigger tv makes your realize how much more shit the game looks like.
