It is great to see both systems will be able to run the game at 60 FPS but COD Ghosts does not look like a super demanding game so why isn't it native 1080p on X1?
@nictel: Oh it has already happened. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=706779&page=8
@jimmyfenix: Time, I'd assume. Probably comparison of how much time and money it would take to implement versus the additional return.
It is classy of them to just come out and confirm it but what the hell is going on with X1? COD look kind of like crap, this cant be a spec issue. Are they behind on dev tool?
@thehbk: 'HD Ready' vs 'Full HD'
Ouch! Some folks saying it's not a big deal but when you think about it, it sort of is. Difficult to forget that the Xbox One is the more expensive console to.
Least developers are honest though, I'll be passing on getting the consoles at launch and can only hope developers learn to lessen the limitations of Microsoft's console a little better as the years go by.
Hey guys wanted to make sure I'm in the right thread. This is the Sony fanboy circle jerk right?
Dude, Sony fanboy is not the preferred nomenclature. Sony crony, please.

What about PC? Oh, wait, sorry. Keep the circle jerking.

Yeah, this thread, with replies ranging from "it doesn't matter" to "the internet is going to explode" to "classy of them to come out and confirm it" is the Sony fanboy circle jerk.
But seriously, you have to admit that it's odd considering how graphically non-intensive this game is. Ultimately, it's hard to call this a sign of anything dire. Now if next years game comes out and it's 720 on X1 and 1080 on PS4, then it's a problem. This year, it's kind of whatever.

Dont you mean pc master race? It seems like everyone on this site is up their own ass with PC gaming and how great their rigs are.
@agnosticjesus: Way to contribute to the thread. Not all negative news = biased "fanboy" news. But, whatever, there is always that one guy who complains about other people complaining. Way to go!
Makes you wonder if maybe the bone is just harder to work with.

That's the marketing spin from TV makers and Blu Ray makers. Look on the back of the box of any 360 game. I doubt it is 1080p native but I am sure it still says 1080p on the resolutions supported. That is because the 360 has a pretty good scaler built in and now the PS4 does too. So I bet the Xbox One and PS4 boxes of games will say 1080p no matter what native resolution is.

of course they will.Even Halo on 360 had 1080P on the box and it was not even 720P
No, no no IW. This isn't how your do this. You're meant to be cagey and only answer in half truths in order to send fanboys into mouth frothing frenzy of baseless speculation and unwarranted name calling.
Still I suppose the official difference in resolutions will at least lead to some entertainment.
Oh no clearly Microsoft doesn't care and clearly the Xbox One is going to be a huge failure of a console.
90% of people won't notice when they play. I have friends that play PC games at 640 resolution because they didn't know you could change it and when I show them they still switch it back. People are idiots
You know what's really striking to me? The fact that it runs at 60 FPS on both consoles. That's kind of alright. Obviously the XBONE being in 720p is kind of disappointing and doesn't seem to bode well for the future, but a good framerate is much more important to me than graphics. Also, the people who buy a console for CoD will probably only buy one console, so if that one console is the XBONE, they will most likely never make the comparison between 1080p and 720p. It's kind of like when you go to buy a TV. They usually have a splitscreen with a high quality image on one side and a low quality image on the other. But if you bought the worse TV, you would never have that higher-end reference to compare your picture with, so it would be fine. Honestly, I think this issue is being hyped a bit too much: it's very informative, but doesn't necessarily predict the success/doom of any system by any means.
@bigjeffrey: Fuck yea!
What are the odds that Infinity Ward announcing this now is really them saying "Fuck You Microsoft" for throwing money at Respawn/Titanfall.
Does BF4 have the same disparity between the two platforms?

For BF4 it runs in 900P on PS4 and 720P on XBox one also there seems to be a kind of huge framerate difference as well as other minor stuff.
Who gives a shit about that. What I want to know is if it will be 1080 on Wii U.
lol nope.

It'll be 1080p on Wii U, 15FPS.

1080p, 1 FPS. It actually requires one of these:

A CoD View Master?
I'd probably buy that.
720 or 1080, ugly games are ugly games.
This sounds more like IW not getting it properly optimised for launch than a disparity in system power considering my phone could probably run COD at 1080 at 60fps
Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven’t had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4. We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both. Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction. Can’t wait for next week's launch.
Ooooh! UPSCALED! Sounds classy. :)
Does anyone realize that we are talking about launch software here? I mean, for Christ's sake, we've been through this already. Shit will look better & run better down the road; regardless of how stuff looks at launch. Stop falling for all the trips the industry is sending your way, and just play your games.
Well that sucks for the Xbox people. Anyway I don't really care - my TV is only HD Ready, and I'm not really planning on upgrading it anytime soon.
So, a question for anyone who doesn't care about resolution differences:
Do you own a 1080p? If so, why did you pay more for a 1080p television, when you could have bought a 720p television instead? You would have either received a far larger screen for the same price, or spent a lot less on your television.
