I'm just gonna describe what happened exactly. I forget the name of the level, but you start off having to escort tanks through some streets. You eventually have to get into one of the tanks guns for this on rails part, and wind up going in a parking garage area. When you get to the part where a cutscene kicks in and you fall through the floor, then a car comes down on you, my game locked up. I thought, "No bid deal...happens fairly often on some Xbox games." I turned the system off, then back on. Loaded the game expecting to be at the checkpoint that was right before that cutscene, but I'm not.....I have to do the whole level over. The checkpoints and even my total playtime was all reset to what it was when I quit playing last night.

Just figured I would post about it to see if others had something similar and to let people know about it. I was playing on Veteran too.....I'm debating whether or not I should just put it down to normal/hard and finish it up or try again on veteran.

It's the mission in Hamburg and usually your character should duck into the car to dodge the car and you should then have the option to press square/X or whatever key on your keyboard to get out of the tank. I've played through that part on veteran on PS3 and this did not happen. Have you maybe deleting your MW3 save and start off from scratch? I recommend playing that game on normal by the way

That's the part. When the car hits the screen just went black and froze. It's not a constant thing. I replayed it and it worked fine. From what I could tell it was just a normal lock up that tends to happen sometimes. The problem was when I got back in and my progress had been reset. Just wanted to let some people know that it could happen. Friend of mine said something similar(losing progress) happened to him at various spots in the game a few times.

Yeah...veteran can be pretty rough sometimes. Something makes me always go for the harder difficulties in these games, though. At this point I've played so many that it's not too bad for me.

I would assume that the freeze screwed things up because you couldn't get a solid save from saving and quitting, so the autosave/checkpointing didn't really register as a save.
