Modern Warfare 3.
Call of Duty
Originally starting as a World War II-themed first-person shooter, the Call of Duty franchise now incorporates other time periods and conflicts and can be found on virtually every modern platform.
Last Call of Duty you bought.
I don't think I've ever actually bought a Call of Duty game. All the one's I've played, I've been borrowing from somebody else.
Black Ops.
Will get MW3 for the single player only once it hits 20$ of less. COD 4's campaign remains a really high point of this generation and even though the campaign in MW2 was trash in comparison i still want to see that story through to its conclusion.
I'm done with the multiplayer in COD and didn't like the single player too much in Black Ops either so i have no interest in Black Ops 2.
Technically the last one I bought was Black-Ops, but that's only because I got it after getting MW3. I won't be getting BlOps2 though because I really didn't like the campaign (which is the only thing I play these games for) and there's something about Treyarch's combat scenarios that I don't like. Aside from the infinite spawning, they feel too wave based, much the first Uncharted game
I've bought them all because my D-bag friends buy them every year and it can be fun playing with friends. In fact, I know some people that pretty much play COD and a sports games and that's it. It's actually kind of sad, but trying to connivence them to play anything else is like dealing with stubborn child.
However, I've decided not to get COD this year for a few of reasons:
1. I'm still a broke college student
2. I'd rather play Borderlands 2 anyway
3. I have a huge backlog of games to play
4. If I wanted to play COD I could just go buy the older ones because it's the same damn game
5. Fuck Call of Duty
MW2, and for the record Black Ops 2 looks interesting, but I'll wait for the quicklook/TNT to decide if I want to pick it up (spoiler: I probably won't).
Black Ops, though it was a few months after it had come out and I got it on sale. The last COD game I actually bought at launch was MW2.

I've technically never bought one, although I have played 'most' of them.
Somehow I've arrived at the same place. I'm not ashamed to admit that in my younger days before I could afford games I pirated Call of Duty 2 and played that game a ton with multiplayer somehow working just fine. Years later though I really did want to buy into the franchise when 4 came out but no fucking way was I buying games at full price ever again. Most other games discount or go on sale enough that it was fine but COD4 stayed at $60 for so many years I refused to give them any money so I just skipped them. Around that time though one of my best friends back in high school had it and I played multiplayer on his box some.
Then this is where it gets even weirder. Since Steam sometimes does free weekends for multiplayer games, I'm something like level 30 in MW2 and 10 or more in MW3. That and having played Black Ops at a friend's dorm room, I've pretty much touched every single COD game one way or another except 1, 3, and those wonky PS2 ones.

I've not pirated any of them, I have just borrowed them off my Dad of all people, except Black Ops and MW3, which I played on steam free weekends. Those games chuck levels at you like nothing.
MW2. I've been sort of interested in the ones after it as I enjoy the gameplay, but given the time I spent with MW2 (not a lot), the price of the other games has never been low enough to make it seem worthwhile.

Same place in the sense that I've played most of them even though I never bought them. Sorry if it came across like I implied you pirated the games or anything like that.
