    Overview

Captain Tsubasa J: The Way to World Youth is a Captain Tsubasa game for the Super Famicom. It is based on the Captain Tsubasa J anime series, which is a sequel series to the original Captain Tsubasa manga and anime. The title refers to Tsubasa's struggle to reach the World Youth stage of international soccer, which becomes a major plot thread of the manga during the mid-90s.

Like previous games in the series, the player is given some micromanagement control over the match, choosing actions for their team's players depending on whether they have possession of the ball or not. The game is still real-time, so the player must make these tactical decisions on the fly. Occasionally, whenever two players fight over the ball or a goalie is trying to stop a powerful strike on goal, the player will have to hammer a button to succeed with the QTE.
