    Originally founded in Glasgow by Brother Walfrid, an Irish Marist brother, in 1887. Brother Walfrid's main aim was to establish the club as a means of funding for his charity The Poor Children's Dinner Table. Since these humble days Celtic has become one of the best teams in Britain.
