Sucks

Actually, this is a news story. Champions Online is now free-to-play, but you can't play it. Who could have foreseen this heavy traffic? Everyone who's ever witnessed the opening of any major event in any MMO ever, besides WoW.

1/5 chubaccas.

Finally started doing stuff. Got my old Raziel back. Upset by the game forcing me to choose a basic class instead of my freeform one. Here's what that looks like.

I'm on the left. I recently fixed it up to fix his crotch pants. Then I deleted him. And I made my character first, so mines way better automatically.

Then I made this guy

But he was too lame.

So now I have this guy

He's cool because he can do really neat poses. He's brawler because he looks real tough and real tough guys are brawlers.

Game now gets a 3/5 for letting me create an almost perfect likeness of myself. I spent about 4 hours creating this guy, so I'm gonna go play some more with him and then finish this review up. 4/5.

Full review: 3.5/10

3 points for character creation.

You can connect fine, this guy just sucks and is all mad and decided to bitch on the forums instead.

Game seems fine.

Well, they're pretty much identical, but I'd say stick with ME2 for now. Champions Online starts off pretty fun, it seems. Just make sure you skip the tutorial. Heavily instanced, too.

@Jeffsekai: Looks like they're fixing that problem that doesn't exist.

And in all seriousness, the game is fun, at least for now. But really make sure you skip the tutorial. It's horribly designed, ugly, boring, and unneeded. Just read the first few quest dialogs when you start and you'll be fine.

The game is pretty decent. The character customization laughs in the face of DCUO and the action is pretty cool. My only big complaints is, when I had a sub, there was a startling lack of content and they still had the audacity to charge you for simple costume pieces and emblems that should be in the game. I mean I've been at max level forever, there's nothing to do, and there hasn't been an update for bugs that have been there forever. So instead of giving me content, which my sub is for, you decide to charge me for items you could easily give away? No thanks Cryptic. And like I said, that was when I was subbed.

So I cannot possibly fathom what they're going to charge F2P players for.

I played it the the day it went free and i had no problem logging in. As if this were the first MMO to ever have server issues on the first day of a major change...

Wow I'm amazed you even got past the character selection screen! No matter how many names i've put into the "name your character" Ive even gave up and did the sjadjahdjasda thing and all it keeps giving me is Character Creation Failed......honestly? I've been trying to make names for an hour! and every time it's the same thing.

There was a glitch where premium archetypes were selectable by free users.

Free users can't make a specialist or savage.
