    Chaos;Child is the fourth mainline entry in the Science Adventure series of visual novels developed by 5pb. and is a direct sequel to Chaos;Head, the first game in the franchise. A demo for the game was released on September 4, 2014 to coincide with the launch of the Xbox One in Japan under the name "Chaos;Child 404 not found" and later premiered on the system on December 18, 2014. PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita ports were released on June 25, 2015. A PC version was published the next year in 2016 followed by an iOS release in 2017. PQube later published the PS4 and Vita editions of Chaos;Child in both North America and Europe in October of 2017.

    Like the other entries in the Science Adventure series, Chaos;Child also received an anime adaptation in January of 2017 and was simulcasted on Crunchyroll.


    Set in Shibuya October 2015, 6 years after the earthquake called "Shibuya Shake". Main protagonist Miyashiro Takuru attends Hekiho High School, there he is a member of the newspaper club. One day he receives valuable information regarding multiple cases involving death. This information consist of, a live beheading on the internet, a person killed while singing on the street live, and a person who was hung from a hotel ceiling. Miyashiro recognizes the cases and evaluates that this is the same events, dubbed, "Return of the New Generation Madness", the events that occurred 6 years ago.
