Chex Quest HD is a freeware sci-fi first-person shooter and advergame developed by Team Chex Quest HD (along with Flight School Studio) and digitally released by General Mills for PC and Mac on May 18, 2020. It was later released for the Nintendo Switch on March 11, 2022.

A fully-3D remake of the 1996 advergame Chex Quest, and released to promote the Chex Mix brand of snack mixes, Chex Quest HD features a modern game engine (rather than the original's Doom engine) with updated levels and split-screen versus multiplayer.

Similar to the original game, players follow a member of the Chex Mix Squadron as they are sent by the Intergalactic Federation of Snacks to an outpost on the planet Bazoik to quell an invasion from slimy creatures known as "Flemoids", using teleportation zapping devices known as "Zorchers". Along with the original Chex Warrior (now known as Fred Chexter), the other five members can be unlocked using codes originally found in specially-marked bags of Chex Mix.

    Characters

Upon installing Chex Quest HD, the only playable character is Fred Chexter (colloquially known as "The Chex Warrior"). The remaining five playable characters, as well as the multiplayer version of Fred, were originally meant to be unlocked with codes found in marked bags of Chex Mix snacks (which vary by flavor, size, and grocer). However, General Mills would later publicize codes for each character via social media (such as the Chex Mix website).

    • Fred Chexter - The original game's sole protagonist, and a human wearing armor that resembles Rice Chex. Unlocked for multiplayer with code D2af3W.
    • Wheatney Chexworth - A human wearing armor that resembles Wheat Chex. Unlocked with code D3bg4E.
    • Dr. O Ryen - An all-knowing being that resembles a rye chip. Unlocked with code D4cj6R.
    • P.R.E.T.Z.L - A hulking robot that resembles a pretzel square. Unlocked with code D6ft1S.
    • NACL96 - A wheeled robot that resembles a pretzel ring. Unlocked with code D5eK9T.
    • Shane 'The Dread' McBread - An old-school maverick that resembles a breadstick. Unlocked with code D7Gy2u.
