Chunsoft is a video game development company based in Japan. Chunsoft was originally founded in 1984 by Koichi Nakamura, who at the time was working for Enix. The first game that was developed under the Chunsoft name was the original Dragon Quest (known as Dragon Warrior in the US because of an existing copyright for Dragon Quest) for the Famicom.

Chunsoft went on to developed many games including the next four Dragon Quest games and the Mystery Dungeon series.

In 2012 they merged with Spike and became Spike Chunsoft.
