Got 1200 pts to spend for a game so ill get the 800 pts back from MS.
But I'm torn between Comic Jumper and Limbo. CJ's zany comical style seems right up my alley, and I loved the previous Twisted Pixel games. But Limbo has the eerie atmosphere and seems to be overall better reviewed (and it is made by a local company).
A dark horse in the race could be Puzzle Quest 2 - Loved the first one but I am on the fence on the new design.
What do you think?
Comic Jumper

Comic Jumper is a side scrolling action game developed by Twisted Pixel. Taking their successful comedic touch in previous ventures and honing it to a sharpened edge, Comic Jumper is filled with manic, unpredictable humor throughout.
Comic Jumper or Limbo ?
It depends what you're looking for. If you want an artsy game with good atmosphere and some solid puzzles go with Limbo, if you want a game with a bunch of cool comic book art styles and a good story that's very funny, but don't mind some kinda crappy gameplay, go with Comic Jumper.
If you want a game with disappointing story get Limbo.
if you want a game with disappointing gameplay get Comic Jumper.
Those are my thoughts exactly. I think that I am leaning towards Comic Jumper right now (New Car Smell), and then wait for Limbo to go on sale in a couple of months." I have them both... I am enjoying Comic Jumper MUCH more than I enjoyed Limbo.
Although I am not a fan of puzzle games, so I have a feeling that has something to do with it. :P
mmmplatforming...
Limbo. I have them both and where Comic Jumper is funny, the game play is awful. Limbo is amazing, but the replay value isn't that great.
I did enjoy Limbo a lot but after I finished it, I felt like the $15 price was a tad high for something was completely black in white, with no voice work or story. But it was a really awesome puzzle platform.
It was challenging but when you figured out the puzzle, you felt good about it.
Comic Jumper is just the opposite. Gameplay just doesn't look appealing enough for me to buy it. Sure, I'll miss out on the humor that the GB guys really liked but I rather wait for the memes and good parts to hit Youtube.
I enjoyed playing Limbo a lot more but I'm not sure if I'd say it's worth $15. Comic Jumper is hilarious and needs to be experienced, but I'm forcing myself through some of the game sections just to hear the dialogue and watch the cut scenes. If you can find a Let's Play of Comic Jumper I'd watch that and buy Limbo.
I was really disappointed by Limbo. I haven't played comic jumper, but if you've been following the GB coverage than I think you know what you are getting into.
However, Costume Quest comes out on the 20th and I'm all lined up to get that. If it interests you, you may want to hold out.
Dude, I know this doesn't really answer your original question, but it would nevertheless result in you spending the requisite 1200pts. Wait till next week and get Super Meat Boy. Seriously, that game looks like its going to be phenomenal. And the early reviews suggest as much.
