PC Gamer UK as apparently leaked confirming Company of Heroes 2 does exist. It's been rumoured for a while and IGN had some details

Woo! Anything Relic RTS related is a win in my book but a new CoH game is an extra plus. Can't wait to see/hear/read more. : D
Company of Heroes
Game » consists of 7 releases. Released Sep 11, 2006
This action packed strategy game lets you take control of Able Company on the shores of 1944 France, pushing the Nazis back into Germany.
Company of Heroes 2 exists... Woo!
Not surprising but it's still great either way considering how CoH was one of my favourite RTSs in a long while.
Still want a sequel to Homeworld though.
Also I agree with thisAwesome, love company of heroes! Hopefully they keep it as a traditional RTS rather than Dawn of War's new style.

Personally I'd like it the other way around.
The duders always play it while on our voice server, but I just can't get in the right head to invest in it and get acquainted with all the gameplay systems. So, sadly, I have no interest in a sequel.
"In a world where sequels strive to justify their existence by twisting and warping original concepts, there's something bold about saying upfront that you intend to repeat yourself"
- 2013 release
- Main campaign is Eastern front, playing as Russians
- Lots of snow. Snow slows down troops and tanks, but can also form cover.
- Units can vault over cover such as low walls.
- Quinn Duffy is the lead designer (worked on Homeworld, Company of Heroes (Senior Designer),Company of Heroes: OF (Gameplay Supervisor), Space Marines (Lead Designer)- Set in the beginning of 1941, the players role will take him from the defense of stalingrad to the victory at berlin.
- Graphics look amazing the soldiers look just as good as they do in other ww2 firstperson shooters.
- Realistic snow, tank treads make realistic marks, also tanks can get bogged down in snow drifts.
- Snow melts Eg: a soldier with a flamethrower burns a farmhouse the snow on the roof melts and makes the roof fallin.
- You can vault over fences.
- New Feature called "True Sight" You can only see what your units see.
- More advanced covering system...thats all it says about that"This time, he makes his own cover by dropping a smoke grenade. As he does so, a fog of war effect greys out the area on the other side. Relic calls this 'True Sight' and it's another of COH2's new additions. You can only see what your soldiers can see. This means that you never know might be on the other side of the next building, beyond the tree line, or even beyond the smoke of your own smoke grenades."
There's still a lot about Company of Heroes 2 that Relic aren't ready to show. They haven't decided which missions will be in the final game, because they haven't built them yet. They don't know exactly how Order 227 will impact your troops outside of cutscenes. The game's economy will be tied to territorial control, as per the first game, but they're not yet ready to talk about it in full. If they've decided how multiplayer will work, they're not telling.
"But their ambition not to change, but to outstrip the superlative original Company of Heroes, near guarantees the same thing the Soviet top brass enforced back in the early '40s: not one step back."

Goodie, now they can continue not making Homeworld 3.
I agree but I like most of Relics games so it's not a big deal.
One thing though, I was just thinking about the DLC for Dawn Of War II and how fucking greedily terrible it was. I wonder how much shit will be cut out of this game and shoved in 50 diffrent £1.99 packs.
I hope they make the animations better. With DOWII and COH when they run around it is like they are floating off the ground and sliding. Total War has always been much better in that regard. Units move like they are attached to the surface.
This is great. I remember the first COH from when I was younger. Such a good game. Gosh, this is really exciting and the game looks and sounds great from the pictures and what the article stated.
Never played the originals but I heard they were good and I loved the Dawn of war series. This is gonna be a Day 1 buy!
I'm fucking pumped!

Yeah, it's more the engines fault. A lot of people complained about stuff like that on the DOW2 forums and how melee was all around broken. Also that game was running on a updated version of CoH, but since its been 3 years it could be safe to assume that they have made some improvements to it or scraped it and made a new engine all together.
Fucking hate that Dawn of War/Warhammer shit. Still pisses me off how they could just throw together a skeleton team to make all the shitty expansion packs and had the main team move on to those games. Don't even get me started on CoHO. I hope this new sequel will finally do justice to the original CoH.
@MB Can you move this thread to this page?
@jakob187: which is a shame beacuse THQ published some of my favorite games last year. looking foward to metro last light this year

Personally I think the single player of Company Of Heroes would benifit from being more in the style of DOWII. Or rather "men of war". The base building aspect doesn't really require much thinking, it just eats up time and makes the game feel less realistic. It's better suited for MP.
