Concord was a sci-fi multiplayer first-person hero-shooter developed by Firewalk Studios (Company) and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (Company) for the PlayStation 5 (Platform) and PC (Platform) on August 23, 2024. It was later shut down on September 6, 2024, two weeks after its initial release. Similar to other hero shooters like Overwatch 2 (Game), Concord put players in five-on-five matches as teams of mercenaries (known as "Freegunners"), each with unique abilities and weaponry. It featured a sci-fi fantasy setting, with the premise being that the Freegunners are smugglers (both human and alien) that work against a mega-corporation called "the Guild" in an isolated galaxy known as "the Wilds". The sole game from American studio Firewalk, Concord was envisioned as one of Sony's key live service games and had a six-to-eight year development cycle, with a rumored development cost of $400 million. It is notorious for being a commercial failure upon release, with the servers shut down only two weeks after and all copies prior to that refunded.
