You probably remember Cook, Serve, Delicious! from that sweet quick look Ryan and Jeff did for it a while back. A recent blog post from chubigans' (the developer) tumblr page has just announced a new patch for the game called the Battle Kitchen Edition which adds a bunch of new stuff here's the short list of it:

• Battle Kitchen mode (non-random mode)
• Weekly Challenges (a la Spelunky's Daily Challenge)
• Local Multiplayer
• Tournament Mode
• eSports(?!) Battle
• Co-op Campaign

There's also a staggering amount of special guest characters from various indie games for the Battle Kitchen mode! Here's a picture!

This patch is coming out for free sometime this November for the Steam version of the game. You should check out the full details here and buy the game if you haven't already, it's really good!

It's super cool! I'm excited to see how this patch is. Feeding Shovel Knight is like a dream come true.

Wow those cameos are insane. I quite like the game too!

When I (a few months ago) went to reinstall this game, I was delighted to see it had been updated with a BUNCH of new foods! And features!

Holy crap, that's a lotta indie characters.

Amazing. I went back and played this game a month or so ago and almost forgot how challenging that game is.

Can't wait to dive back in.

I feel almost bad for liking something so simple. But I do.

Cool, maybe i'll check the game out again. I really liked the game but didn't care for the, "Play out 20 days" part of the progression, it was a bit grindy-er then i prefer and I never felt like i was rewarded for trying out new menu items, which just had me playing the same sure-fire options over and over.

Excellent news! I started a new game plus and boy, those first few days on extreme difficulty are BRUTAL. Excited for more free content.

Cool to see! Maybe I'll get back into it when this drops. It'll be fun re-training my dumb fingers to react that fast again.

I stopped playing the original game when I started getting menu decay on both of the simplest items I could sell (beer and sopapillas) and then they introduced the police sketch mechanic. Too much pressure and PTSD from a real life restaurant job I've had.

Hopefully this new update will get me back in.

I hope these changes make it to the iPad version.

Not sure I can handle anything more intense than the base game mechanically, but the co-op campaign sounds potentially cool.
