In July, Ruffian Games revealed the name of the second big pack of content coming to Crackdown 2. This morning, "Deluge" was properly announced, and if you've got a copy of Crackdown 2 still lying around, it might be the kind of content that could pull you back into the open-world shooter for a couple more hours--provided you've got buddies who have copies, too.

Deluge, in a nutshell, adds vehicle and weapon "adjustments," as well as two new multiplayer modes: Horde and Capture the Flag. In Horde (or Deluge in Crackdown 2-speak) you and up to three others will be tasked with killing increasingly more dangerous waves of Pacific City's "denizens." Capture the Flag (or Capture the Orb as Ruffian calls it) "will have you hurtling building and dodging rockets as you race to score."

Like the last bit of Crackdown 2 DLC, there will be a trial and a paid version of this content. In the trial version, you'll be given online access to Capture The Orb in full, but restricted to just single-player Deluge play. The paid version, in contrast, will allow you to play Deluge online and will allow you to gain all the achievements and avatar awards associated with the DLC.

== TEASER ==But, wait, there's a bit more! According to Microsoft, Deluge will also talk to the Windows Phone 7 tower defense title Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst. When you do something noteworthy in Project Sunburst, you'll gain access to helicopter and Peace Keeper support calls, as well "exclusive power-ups" in Crackdown 2. You'll also be able to access new stuff like weapon upgrades in Project Sunburst by doing stuff in Crackdown 2. That's cool, I guess.

Deluge hits this November and will be priced at 560 Microsoft Digital Bones, which is equivalent to seven of your Earth dollars.

I know everybody likes to bash on Nicholson, but I really liked the "seven of your earth dollars" joke at the end there and wanted to give the man some props for that.

Please don't come back until you have a Halo 4 beta code, Crackdown.  You're making this awkward for both of us.

Crackdown 2, hmmm... Is that the one that came out about 4 years ago, or the one that feels like it should have come out about 4 years ago?

I think it's cute that they're doing this, like an adorable puppy who runs away from home and comes back a month later.

More like the dog that was cute in 2007, but now smells like shit and you were secretly glad he ran away.

How about $7 for a DLC pack to make the game fun for longer than 45 minutes, at which point you realized that they didn't get the memo to mix up the gameplay.
