    Orb Loving

Crackdown series has been a interesting series. The first crackdown brought a new meaning to open in open world. No order to do missions is a freeing feeling. The 2nd brought a new art style but the same map and the inclusion of zombie type creatures was a bit overdone at the that point. The 3rd and the new one brings some old and new ideas.

Story wise you crash landed near a new city with a crazed organisation trying to control everywhere. To be honest I lost interest in the characters and story, so I played most of the game listening to a podcast. Although Terry Crews is a good choice but you can’t hear his speech very well but hopefully he returns for number 4.

Gameplay wise it’s the same as the 1st, kill bosses, destroy locations and of course collect orbs, beautiful orbs. I hate collecting things in games but orb collecting is good fun as always. Guns are good, vehicles are disappointing (there’s no point to them) . You level up your skills by just using them e.g use your guns and your shooting level goes up. It can get repetitive being that most of missions just involve kill a boss or destroy certain buildings.

Visually it does the job but the lack of proper destruction except in the multiplayer mode but that’s a different discussion for another day. The settings are interesting but having a race track with no race happening, it’s a bit lifeless.

Overall it’s a good sit back and relax game. It’s lacking variation and really more ideal for short bursts. It’s shorter than previous entries but at least that way it doesn’t drag on.

A Lot of times games gatekeep all of their skills and the coolest aspects until the last quarter of a game. New game plus should give me powers from the get go. Crackdown 3 hampers you so early in the beginning it is no surprise that an achievement I unlocked (Call in the Cavalry) had 5.09% as percentage done by t...

Crackdown 3 Review from AndrewsBase 0

It has been a long time coming, but Crackdown 3 has finally released on Xbox One and Microsoft's Windows Store on PC. In a sea of huge video game releases this February, Crackdown 3 is that 80's B-Action movie that we all feel guilty loving.Crackdown 3 has been marred with constant delays and been floating in a state of perpetual development hell for years, with Microsoft focusing on their cloud computing engine and how this impressive technology would wow us with its ability to handle environme...
