WHAT? They dubbed the original version with english voices? (I only played the demo + watched the video-walkthrough) - I thought the russian voice talent was exceptionally well. The game is unique and the technical quality is great, but "[it] shows how far ahead the technology is in Russia" - njet, sorry tovarish. The technology is DirectX 10 (Microsoft), Pixel Shader (OpenGL, Nvidia, ATI) and so on, the real accomplishment is, that your comrads (1C) conquered and succeded in their goal to make an awesome game!

Reminds me of Far Cry and Crytek Studio, when they came out of nowhere.

We all should remember, this game was made by a russian mini-group that has no contacts to the inner circles of western game-developers. They were on their own and delivered a rather unique and very decent 1st game. The bugs will be fixed in the coming weeks. And - as an old PC Gamer - I remember very well all the pc-games that came out and had their patch-orgies for 6-12 months, until every single videogame had it-s own patch integrated into the driver for each videocard-chip and vendor.

The most compelling part of this game IMHO too, is the atmosphere it creates. One may argue that Bioshock still 'looks' better. But they have veteran developers who are 'awesome' in what they are doing. A bunch of russian guys, using the latest in tech to convince me, that the russian arctic sea is effing freezing and that I am stuck in a ship that reminds me of the best moments in Dead Space and System Shock 2 (or the Thief game, when it comes to sound), deserves a fair understanding and comparison.
