In terms of visuals and gameplay, Crysis is king. 3

Before I decided to move on, I made one last inspection at the blitz I had just unleashed. An assortment of torn bodies rest around a blazing oil barrel. A man lay sprawled, lifeless against a cold, gray rock. A humvee lay cindering, its passengers as dead as the dirt they lay motionless in. I gaze at my ammo count and couldn’t help but flash a smile. All of this violence was discharged with just four bullets, a single grenade, and just a little help from my military nano suit. As I began to wa...

An euphoria-inducing thrill ride of intense and amazing moments. 0

If there is anything that pretty much everyone already knows about Crysis it's that the game is freaking beautiful. There is no doubt in my mind that Crysis is easily one of the best looking games ever created. This creates a bit of a problem though. Is Crysis simply a pretty tech demo or is there a hidden gem of a game behind all of that eye candy? The answer to this question is an astounding yes; Crysis is an outstanding first-person shooter experience that almost feels like a high profile Hol...

It's four years late, but Crysis on console works 1

Crytek's shtick has always been to deliver ground-breaking graphics that push people's PCs to their absolute limits. In late 2007, Crytek's latest first-person shooter, Crysis, arrived on PC and quickly gained infamy for its at-the-time absurd system requirements needed to run the game at maximum settings. It also garnered much praise for its open-ended gameplay, which let players approach any situation however they pleased. Not many shooters have matched that style of gameplay in the years sinc...

Beautiful, Short, and Lacking Some Attention in Some Areas... 0

Graphics:- Graphically, this game is a stunner, in both DX 10 mode or DX 9 the visual experience is just jaw dropping. The lighting effects are spot on and the atmosphere in some areas are downright saturating. Audio:- Audio-wise will offer what is expected, you can hear the leaves rustle past you as you walk brush past them. Vehicles driving by, even the clinking of brass hitting the tarmac is a nice touch.Gameplay:**Singleplayer:- Two major complaints length , and fluidity. COD 4 was bashed fo...

    Crysis Review 0

When Crysis launched on PC back in 2007, the game became an instant legend thanks to its breathtaking technologically feats and gorgeous vistas that strained even the most beefier of gaming rigs back then. There was a spoof that went around claiming NASA supercomputers could only run the game at max settings for no more than 10 minutes before crashing.Of course that isn’t true, but it does contribute to the sheer power of the game that still rivals the graphical fidelity of games today. But the ...

A good port, not a great one 0

Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek, once gloated that running the PC slayer Crysis on consoles was impossible. This was before Crysis launched of course, and only added to the hype of what would become the most sought after graphical high-mark of all computer gaming. According to the developers, and many gamers, it was to be a new era of gaming; a game so beautiful that it would stun all who beheld it and lead the way into a bright future. Then Crysis sold less than 100,000 copies in its first two weeks...

    Nano-Suit up for a 2007 hit game 0

Crysis brought PC gaming rigs to it's knees in 2007, with it's high-quality visuals and Nano-suit gameplay, while console players were mostly likely finishing the fight in Halo 3 if they were playing games on the 360. Since that time, Crysis 2 was made available on both PC and consoles, and now the original game has made it's way to the Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3 as a digital download.Crysis has some intense fire-fights to accompany the amazing visualsWhile I played and enjoyed Crysis 2, I nev...

As many of you guys out there, I expected a lot more from this game. Out-of-this -world graphics though. 0

As many of you guys out there, I expected a lot more from this game. The only reason I gave it 8.5 is for the stunning graphics, which are literally years away from any other game I have seen or imagined. This engine is so good that Crysis deserves high score only because of it. Plus, it could be a good basis for better games later this year.I found the first half of the game fairly interesting, with almost non-linear storyline. Well, missions were still mostly linear, but you could at least f**...

Beautiful, but lacks in story as it's very predictable. 0

After reading and hearing the hype this game was getting, I decided to check it out for myself. I actually upgraded my computer with a new GeForce 8800 GT just for the event. Like most games I jump into, I didn't know much about it so I wouldn't oversell myself on the game. All I knew is that the physics and the graphics were superior to none. That they are. But sometimes, graphics can't make the game more than what it is: a basic sci-fi shooter. For starters, the story line is generic. It's wha...

Brilliant and I'm not just talking about the graphics!!! 0

I bought this after having exhausted my demo version! I thought it would be awesome and I wasnt disappointed! I have a pretty low spec PC Athlon X2 4200@2.2ghz, 2gb RAM, ASUS M2N4 Sli Mobo and 7600gt card! I initially thought that as I have a low spec PC I wouldnt enjoy the game so much as I would be losing much of the spectacular graphics (played on low settings). However I grew to appreciate the top notch gameplay. The whole nano suit concept I instantly loved as manipulating certain battle si...

    The definitive PC-shooter 0

[This review was originally written 11/12/07] First person shooters have slowly started to detract from the PC were the genre originated from, seeing it´s way towards consoles with thumbsticks in favour of a mouse and keyboard setup. This however isn´t the case with Crysis, an emergent and thrilling experience that is only possible on the PC. It may be one of the biggest system hogs to date and anyone with a beefed up computer might just be into Crysis for its amazing visuals but Crysis is regar...

    My Take on Crysis 0

I beat Crysis a few minutes ago. The phrase in my mind is, "It sucked." It didn't really suck, but that's the feeling I have. The graphics and effects and level design are incredible. The nano suit and the weapon gadgets are quite welcomed. But I was frustrated with the game early on. About half-way through, I just wanted it to be over. I kept playing so I could beat it and move on. My goal this year is to beat 1 game per month, and this one needed to get out of the way. I beat it ahead of sched...

A great looking game, but also a great game. 0

Crysis has made quite a stir in the gaming world while it was being developed up until the day it was released, the graphics were like nothing that had ever preceded it. When we finally got the chance to play it we realized the hype had a reason to be that high, the graphics are beautiful. One thing is sure, it will take a while until a game comes to dethrone the almighty Crysis from the position of the most graphically advanced game on the market, along with its "brother" Crysis Warhead, releas...

A great tech achievement, but not much else. 2

I've been meaning to give this game a try ever since it came out, but due to lack of sufficient processing power of my prehistoric PC, I never could play it, you know, properly. However, recently I got a machine that's at least a little up to snuff, and so forth comes this review.First of all, as everyone undoubtedly knows by now, this game will truly put any PC to shame. If you're lucky enough to beef it out at high-res and all that jazz, you'll start doubting the level of detail on your room's...

Great Gameplay, Really Dumb Story 0

What amazing graphics (for the time)! But what a dumb story line.Gameplay rating:  ----Graphics 10.0----Handling 8.0----Interaction 10.0----Excitement 6.0----Storyline 5.0Graphics were perfect (although almost nobody can handle the high setting).Handling was good, but was really crappy and fake during the zero-G chapters.Interaction was very good. Almost everything was destructable, even the turtles. The physics were very good.Excitement was, um.... wait..... was it actually exciting? You get th...

    Disappointingly Beautiful Game 0

When I saw the trailers for the new Crysis 2 coming out this year I was really excited, the trailer really seemed like an interesting story. I had yet to play the original Crysis and wanted to get through it before Crysis 2 came out, so I went out and picked up a copy. I went into Crysis not expecting too much from the gameplay and story, but what I found was severely lacking even from my low expectations. I'm going to explain the basics of the story in this review, don't worry its not ruining m...

As I am a big fan of FPS I had a very good time with Crysis. And who doesn't know Crysis, everyone knows that Crysis is using CryEngine 2.0 and it's probably the best looking game ever made.Absolutely everything in this game looks realistic (except the Aliens). You will need of course a very powerful computer to play that game, but even in low details the game looks amazing.A played it on very high and I saw just everything :).For example-there is a car coming you way,you use the Running mode of you...

Sexiest Shooter On The Market 0

Much like Doom 3 before it, Crysis is one of those games that comes around and would look absolutely beautiful if it weren't for the fact that the majority of our computers could not run at maximum settings at launch. Assuredly, in a few years the graphics of Crysis will be a thing of the past, as we reminisce in our photo-realistic graphics and virtual reality, to the days of bump-mapping and mouse-keyboard setups.   Back in 2004, Crytek burst on to the scene with Far Cry, a game that crossed a...

A technical masterpiece that made every other shooter obsolete 0

Years from now, Crysis will probably be remembered as a technical masterpiece with fantastic graphics. This reputation is well-earned, as Crysis sports an amazing engine that made every other shooter obsolete the day that it came out. The game compromises nothing when it comes to lighting, level sizes, physics, shaders, and polygon counts. Chances are, if you are reading this review, you have already heard about how great the nuts and bolts are. However, Crysis isn't just another pretty face tha...

    A Disappointing Remaster On The PS4 0

Let me say firstly, I loved Crysis when it first came out in 2007 on PC, and because of that, I find this remaster on the PS4 to be a massive disappointment. From poor performance, even in "Performance mode" the frame rate has severe drops, even when just walking or running around the map. To serious texture pop-ins, the game screams that it isn't fully developed for the PS4 Pro. If I change the graphic options to either "Graphics" or "Ray Tracing", then the games frame rate has severe drops, dur...

    Crysis Review 0

Crysis is one of those weird games to review. The reason I say this is because with games that are so heavily hyped before release, it’s hard not to formulate an opinion on the game even before you’ve played it. Developers Crytek have promised gamers the holy grail of gaming; their first true taste of next generation gaming on the PC. They released hundreds of in game screen shots and game play videos that have caused even the most outspoken critic to bat at least one eye lid in amazement. The g...

Crysis What is it Good For? 0

Crysis, what is there to say about it. It is a technical achievement, amazing graphics, especially on DirectX10. Although DirectX10 has proven to be not as efficient as it was made out to be. And sadly, although the game has a great storyline, up to a certain point which will be addressed later. It falls short, it has potential and fails to meet it. It has a lot of great ideas, but in my opinion it was not implemented well. Maybe if they polished the graphics engine (Crytek 2.0) and put a solid ...

Welcome to the "Next Generation" of PC Games. 0

Crysis is by far one of the most visually stunning games released to date and tries to streamline the First Person Shooting genre but is hindered by glitches, high system requirements, and a rather run-of-the-mill plot.Don't get me wrong, my system is more than capable of playing Crysis, but I know that for a friend of mine, the system requirements were the exact reason he didn't end up purchasing the game. And I know that for many gamers, that will be a bone of contention, just like Supreme Com...

    Fantastic Game 0

Crysis has been one of the most controversial games in history. It is a game that amazes with its spectacular visuals, frustrates with its heavy system requirements, and entertains with its gameplay. Many games do not get more than a few sentences regarding their graphics, however, Crysis is a completely different story. Crysis is perhaps the most technically stunning game in history. That is a pretty bold claim, but I think that Crysis defenitely delivers. The attention to detail here is amazin...

Set in the year 2020, Crysis has you running through one of the least likely places you would think to be in the future, the jungle.. But not just any jungle, this one happens to be filled with thousands of North Koreans. Why they are there is unknown, so the United States sends in a special ops team to the island to find out. You take control of the character Nomad, with your nano suit you are probably the most advanced and deadliest solder on the battlefield. Coming along with you is Jester, P...

    Crysis Review 0

When Crytek released their second debut title, Crysis, late last year amongst some of the biggest titles such as Call of Duty 4, Bioshock and Halo 3, it is difficult to measure the worth of this shooter within a genre that is already very crowded. Despite the steep hardware requirements keeping the masses absent from the beast that is a Crysis, those who have been enjoying this amazing title under the best circumstances can attest to it easily being best-in-breed PC gaming with the amazing graph...

Im going to make this short and sweet.Superb! game, in every aspect that you can think of, the storyline, the action, the new take on how you equip yourself by modding your weapon ect, and its biggest assest the graphics! the only problem is you'll need a real HIGH-END top of the line PC if you want any hope of running this game on max settings at nice screen resolutions, which is the only reason i didn't get it a 5 star rating. The game itself is just really fun to play with gorgous lush enviro...

Where to start with Crysis. I could start with the fact that, I really enjoyed Far Cry. But this isn't and will never be Far Cry. The guys at Crytek took there bittersweet time to put this gem out to the market and what happened, People slammed like a sex deprived man with a prostitute. " The Spec are too High", this is what would be heard from miles around, but that wasn't true the specs aren't that high, if you wanted graphics from 2014 then they were too high but for the best looking g...

    Ohhs and Ahhs 0

What Crysis lacks in substance is made up with in explosions and shaders. The amount of enjoyment to be had in this game will likely be proportional to the specs of your computer. Graphical achievements aside, the gameplay offers non linear objectives and wide open environments in which to do them. The shooting is visceral and solid and story is paced nicely throughout....

First of all , I gotta say that the game is one of the best looking shooters out now :) While this is one of the games sellings points it also limits the numbers of people that will be able to fully enjoy the game. The system requirements of the game are extremely high and many people will have to buy a new high-end pc to enjoy the game and all the impressive technology that powers it.But don't worry , I think the game is absolutely worth upgrading or buying a new pc. The gameplay is outstanding,...

You play as Nomad, a special ops soldier wearing the latest in nano suit technology. You are apart of a 5 man squad sent to an unkown tropical island that the North Koreans are using as a base of operations and unkown research. As you play further through the game you will begin to realise that it's not just the Koreans you will have to worry about as the island hold much more sinister secrets. In the way story goes it progresses well and playing through it the first time will have you guessing ...

    Crysis Review 0

Crysis is a lot of things to a lot of people. As early as two years ago, some of the gaming press that saw it called Crysis the first truly photorealistic 3D game. Eventually it has become one of the main motivating factors for people to buy a new video card and get Windows Vista and get those hot new DirectX 10 graphics. After all, the eye candy seemed to be the biggest draw for this first person shooter from the creators of Far Cry, which itself had some very impressive visuals when it was re...

You fight North Korean soldiers, but later in the game, you find out what happened to the scientist, and what they discovered. Aliens! Four years ago, back in 2004, Ubisoft & Crytek brought us FarCry,a virtually stunning FPS, maybe the best FPS experience 'till Half Life 2.The game started quite normal, with some mercenaries to shoot in a superbly designed jungle & environments.By half of it the genetically mutated humans & monkeys started to appear, dragging us into the not so good part of FarCry, the SF part (& quite thrilling also).Well, Crytek was bought by EA & in early 2006 they announced Crysis,catalogue...

I haft to say I really liked this game. Crysis is one of few games that I think is worth the money I spent on it when it first came out. I loved the last levels, they were very well done with the 0G aspect of movement. I was realy anticipateing this game when it was comeing out, but it didin't disapoint. A tech demo 2

I was very excited for Crysis, and even upgraded from my 7900 GT for it. The good reviews kept me hopeful. But once I dived into the game, what I found was a sneak preview on what we will see next gen. The graphics are through the roof. Detail is everywhere. Vista users get a little extra also (very high settings). I still don't think there's a computer on the market that can run Crysis perfectly. Battles with many people tend to chop of the FPS. But still, the graphics are wonderful, and certai...

Visually, Crysis is a stunner.  Crytek really took advantage of the engine early in the game, showing beautiful jungle, crisp waterfalls and pretty incredible expansive landscape shots.  Looking down from cliffs or up at the sunset, this game is the best looking I have ever seen.Gameplay it excels as well.  It's basically Far Cry, refined, with a nifty new suit.  The suit changes gameplay in fundamental ways.  I enjoy the stealthy capabilities, creeping up on guards and strangling them was an ex...
