    A tech demo

I was very excited for Crysis, and even upgraded from my 7900 GT for it. The good reviews kept me hopeful. But once I dived into the game, what I found was a sneak preview on what we will see next gen. The graphics are through the roof. Detail is everywhere. Vista users get a little extra also (very high settings). I still don't think there's a computer on the market that can run Crysis perfectly. Battles with many people tend to chop of the FPS. But still, the graphics are wonderful, and certainly the best the world has ever seen. The story is very interesting at first. You're with a squad sent to find missing scientists on an island. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat the first level, unti you actually see the goofy aliens. Ripped straight out of a B-movie I swear. The story is very lacking from there on. The gunplay is OK. The game's main feature is your suit. It has several powers included extra strength, speed, and stealth. The only truly useful of these is stealth, which is basically invisibility for a limited time. I almost never used streangth the whole game. Speed is only used outside of combat. And if you're not a stealthy guy, you won't be using it much. The game brags that there's many ways to approch a situation. It's nothing we haven't seen before. Far Cry has done, and it's done it better (special abilities ruin it for me). The single palyer is short and forgettable, with an unintersting ending. Muliplayer is there. The community is pretty much dead though. I think mostly everyone gave up on the muliplayer after the beta. The sound is there, and it sounds really good. Voice acting is top notch. The music however, is forgettable. Overall Crysis is great to see glimpse of the future. It's great production values can't be fallowed up by the gameplay. For lower end computer users, don't feel like you're missing much. Get Far Cry. It has far less system requirements and offeres similar, but better, gameplay.

Before I decided to move on, I made one last inspection at the blitz I had just unleashed. An assortment of torn bodies rest around a blazing oil barrel. A man lay sprawled, lifeless against a cold, gray rock. A humvee lay cindering, its passengers as dead as the dirt they lay motionless in. I gaze at my ammo count and couldn’t help but flash a smile. All of this violence was discharged with just four bullets, a single grenade, and just a little help from my military nano suit. As I began to wa...

An euphoria-inducing thrill ride of intense and amazing moments. 0

If there is anything that pretty much everyone already knows about Crysis it's that the game is freaking beautiful. There is no doubt in my mind that Crysis is easily one of the best looking games ever created. This creates a bit of a problem though. Is Crysis simply a pretty tech demo or is there a hidden gem of a game behind all of that eye candy? The answer to this question is an astounding yes; Crysis is an outstanding first-person shooter experience that almost feels like a high profile Hol...
