Here is the video they released now that it has finished.
It seems as though the fellow who won it is now part of the development of their next game, and will also receive a share of the profits from it. I suppose that is, indeed, "life-changing."

Peter Molyneux's first post-Microsoft project at 22 Cans, a mobile game in which players around the world could work together to break open a giant cube. The cube was finally completed on May 26, 2013.
