So what's your favourite cutscene in a video game?

With the influence of games such as MGS4, do you think that there will ever be a point where some games are considered more 'interactive movies' than traditional video game?

I really liked the cutscene with Arthas at the end of the human campaign in Warcraft 3.

It would be from Xenosaga Episode 2, when Jin Uzuki and Margulis had that sword battle in the beginning of the game.

There are too many for me too name... but most recently... I've been amazed with most MGS4 cutscenes.

There are people calling MGS4 an interactive movie already

ReTarDedFisHy's favorite cutscene was the final fight between Snake and Liquid Ocelot, because the camera and style of that fight was so movie-like, it felt like you were controlling a cutscene! That game sequence was so epic ReTarDedFisHy almost 'sploded.

I'd go with the ones in Devil May Cry 3. That game is all around badass.

And the cutscene that you get after defeating Nevan? Just awesome.

The opening cutscene from Shenmue 1. The cutscene with Lan Di hanging off the helicopter in Shenmue II. Virtually all the cutscenes from Metal Gear Solid 4. Link becoming Adult Link in Ocarina Of Time. The nuclear explosion in Call Of Duty 4.

Any cutscene with Kari Wuhrer in it is a great cutscene.

Although I think some of my all time favorite cutscenes are from the original Freespace and the opening and ending of System Shock 2.

Those, specifically, can be found here, and here. I can't find the ending to System Shock 2 though!

Liquid Ocelot against US Army/PMC is definitely up there.
I also love the ending of Zone of the Enders 2, and the scene just before the big battle.

And a thousand more that I can't think of right now.

I'd probably say the intro cutscene of FFX. Very epic.

And MGS4 really isn't an interactive movie, that's silly to even suggest that. Yes there are a lot of lengthy cutscenes, but there's also a lot more gameplay.

The laughing scene from Final Fantasy X. ;-) Just kidding.

    *MGS4 SPOILERS*

I'd have to go with... the "cutscene" in MGS4 where Snake is crawling down that long microwaved hall, an inch from death, and in the upper part of the screen, Metal Gear Ray is beating the shit out of that ship.

Hey Josh, you must have missed it. You can find the ending to System Shock 2 here

My favorite cutscenes other than the ones Blizzard does, has to be the ending of Planescape Torment (One of the best RPGs of our time)  found here  and the ending of Grim Fandango.

The one in MGS4 with Liquid Ocelot and the US Army at the end of Act 3 (pretty sure it was Act 3).

Gotta agree with you on that. The music in that is sweet, and I liked the camerawork they used in it, as well.

Oh, damn, I've got a few.  In no particular order, Full Throttle's intro, the intro to Soul Blade, intro to FF7, damn near anything in MGS4, Sweet Tooth's ending in Twisted Metal Black, and the ending to Diablo 2.
