Bernard Strauss

Bernard Strauss was the first science director of the UESC Marathon. He was presumed to be in control of the A.I. Durandal prior to the Pfhor attack of 2794.
Durandal

Formerly an A.I. construct in charge of mundane ship functionality aboard the UESC Marathon, Durandal went fully rampant sometime in the year 2794. His activities following this event are one of the major focuses of the Marathon series.
Leela

One of three A.I.s native to the UESC Marathon, Leela acts as the player's guide throughout much of Marathon.
Robert Blake

A mechanical engineer who was abducted from Tau Ceti by Durandal, Robert Blake assists the player during Durandal's absence in Marathon 2.
Tycho

Formerly an A.I. in charge of the UESC Marathon's science and engineering network, Tycho was given new purpose by the Pfhor after being refashioned in Durandal's image.
