Overview
Dandara is a Metroidvania 2D action-adventure game with a focus on exploration. The game was developed by Brazilian developer Long Hat House. It features a large world filled with hidden items, power-ups, enemies and bosses.
Gameplay
In Dandara, the player controls the eponymous hero in an atypical way; rather than moving via direct input, the player must first aim with the analogue stick and then leap in the chosen direction by pressing a button.
The game also features a Dark Souls-like currency system, wherein players accrue "salt" that can be used to purchase upgrades. If players die, their salt is left at the site of their most recent death, and can be recovered by collecting a spirit. Dying a second time will result in the permanent loss of this salt.
