And it's awesome:
Dark Souls
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Sep 22, 2011
A quasi-sequel to From Software's action-RPG Demon's Souls, set in a new universe while retaining most of the basic gameplay and the high level of challenge. It features a less-linear world, a new checkpoint system in the form of bonfires, and the unique Humanity system.
Dark Souls' Japanese box art revealed.
I actually think the second one looks slightly better as a cover, but I like the idea of the first one more.
@Icemael: I hadn't seen the American cover before. It's pretty boring, I think... just a menacing dude holding a weapon on a one-colour background. The Japanese one sets up an atmosphere: a tired warrior rests after a long, tough day of fighting, taking refuge in the sanctuary offered by a lone, sparking fire surrounded by ruins shrouded in darkness...I don't think that's a real cover.

2. Since when was Atlus publishing it?
Most of the time I don't care for Japanese box art. There's either way too much going on, or way too little. But I really like this one.
I really like both oddly enough, both are simple and to the point of the game. First one evokes more of a Demon's Souls kind of feeling than the other one though, at least to me.
digging the japanese cover, i appreciate their restraint and their decision to go with something more pensive.
Oooh, both of them are looking purty! Though I am rather curious what the box art for the NA/EU versions will be like.
I don't think that's a real cover.

It is the European Limited Edition cover, at least. Except with the title in the middle of the picture instead of at the top.2. Since when was Atlus publishing it?
The art on the European Limited Edition plastic box (as opposed to the cardboard one, which I linked to earlier) can be seen in this picture. It's very nice (though not quite as good as the Japanese version's art, I think). Much better than what's on the cardboard box.
Why do people need a Creative cover? I would be fine if it was black with white letters across saying Dark Souls since this is not a game about fancy shiny things.I think that's why both of the covers posted here are really good. I like the first one because it gives me the sense that shit's about to go down.
Welp, looks like the Western one isn't nearly as cool:
