So I pre-ordered Dark souls about a month ago so i can get the collectors edition (I just like shiny things) And it had the Launch Day Delivery *Guaranteed*. It is now Tuesday and They have yet to ship it. Unless Amazon has a outlet somewhere in western washington that I have never heard about or had anything sent to me from before, I dont think I am getting my copy today. Anyone else with this issue?
Dark Souls
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Sep 22, 2011
A quasi-sequel to From Software's action-RPG Demon's Souls, set in a new universe while retaining most of the basic gameplay and the high level of challenge. It features a less-linear world, a new checkpoint system in the form of bonfires, and the unique Humanity system.
Its tuesday and amazon has yet to *Ship* my copy of Dark souls.
Same boat here except regular edition and pre-ordered a few days ago. If it isn't here tomorrow, I will be a little upset. It will be the first time Amazon has failed me out of the couple thousand dollars I have spent there though, so I can forgive them quite easily. I do want to play it tomorrow though...
I only pre-ordered because it was the collectors edition for free, otherwise i would be visiting fred meyers in the morning :) I have never pre-ordered from amazon before but i have usually only heard great things on their same day delivery for launch titles. I have bought a crap ton of other stuff from them but i never cared about delivery then, just that i wanted it sometime in the future.
same, but some people are saying that they haven't updated their status on the website but rest assured that your package has already been shipped if you selected release date delivery... if you don't get your copy today, Amazon is known to give refunds and let you keep the product when it arrives as a gesture of good faith.
I'd be surprised if you didn't get tracking info in the morning and the game later tomorrow.

They have a warehouse in Bellevue actually?
The Bellevue warehouse is actually mostly Amazon Fresh stuff, they have a real fulfillment center down in Sumner (south of Seattle), fyi.
I got my notification around midnight my time. Keep checking. You did choose the release day shipping when you bought it, right?

Oh how I love Amazon.
I just had mine get the origin scan from UPS at around 10PM EST 10/3, but that didn't show up until this morning.
But, the customer support for amazon has always been fantastic for me, so I'd just wait it out for a couple of hours and if the item hasn't even departed to your state, then call/email in (calling is usually better).
I usually use Gamestop for launch titles. It's rare I actually purchase at launch but I'm making an exception with this game. Is Amazon any cheaper as far as delivery? I paid $9.99 for overnight delivery.
I go the "yo, your shit is delayed, son" email like many others. I had the game set to ship to my office today. With the delay, the possibility that it would not arrive on time scared the piss out of me, so I contacted a rep to see what my options were. He let me change the shipping address to my house. I won't get the game until Thursday now (assuming UPS doesn't fuck up, which is what scared me about the delay), but at least I'll be there to receive it.
Ah, first-world problems... :P

I paid a dollar for release date delivery, so yeah, it's a bit cheaper.
After having a few no problems for a few years, Amazon has droped the ball on me three times in 2011 out of seven game purchases. If you kick up enough of a stink they'll issue you a $5-10 account credit so there is an upside. Just don't be afraid to be inconsolable.
I've never had a problem with their shipping(Prime member), but at least in my experience the tracking is a joke. Guess that depends on the courier service there using but yeah. Actually got my copy of Fast Five yesterday. Though it seems they may have had a stock problem.

Depending on where you live, Amazon doesn't charge tax, so that helps out.
I preordered it on amazon because I thought i would get the upgrade to the collector's edition. Well, it arrived today, but it was the standard edition.
Checked my e-mail, and it is no matter of slow status updates in my case. They fully admitted there was a delay in my shipment so they're doing the whole refunding shipping charges before I could even bring it up myself. Disappointed that I'm gonna have to wait another day, but hey, I like how Amazon handled this.

Isn't it 99 cents? :) Anyway, Amazon is a great deal. Mines out for delivery and I'm sitting here waiting. Waiting!! It's 1 pm now, so I don't think it will be too long.
@McShank: I pre-ordered a game from them last year (I think), collectors too, and it never came up as shipped. A few days later I contacted them and they said 'whoops we aren't supplying that title any more' and then there was a link for 'was this answer satisfactory'.
I clicked that and said no it wasn't because if they'd told me I could have ordered from elsewhere and got the title launch day. The reply was stunningly similar to the previous and of course had a link for 'was this satisfactory'.
I clicked the link and said no it wasn't satisfactory since they are still only saying they decided not to stock the item rather than addressing the fact that I was never notified...
Got the e-mail saying order would be delayed and it is listed under shipping soon, so maybe tomorrow? Here's hoping.

Release date delivery on Amazon is $0.99.
It's why I always check the tracking information. Not that it helps if the email arrives entirely too late, but the shipping company is the best source for info.
Did you know that if you drop any tracking code into Google, it knows what it is and links you to the tracking info for that package? It works for every carrier I've seen (UPS, USPS, FedEx, OnTrac) .
UPS's tracking says mine should be here within the next 1 1/2 hours. The wait is killing me. Amazon's tracking page hasn't updated since last night.
If you paid for release date delivery and it doesn't show up, they will probably give you a discount on your next purchase. My copy of New Vegas came one day late and they gave me a thing for $10.
The Best Buy I pre-ordered at had their collector's edition set to "While supplies last - first come first serve".
I was the first one there but it turns out that they received zero copies of the CE, and didn't think they would be getting any.
I'm fine with the regular edition personally, but I'm very curious to find out how many people are going to end up getting the same deal.
So no one heard about this then?

Gods DAMN it, Namco-Bandai, if the copy I receive isn't the CE...!
They'd better keep their eyes to the skies, lest they be met by unexpected fire-breathing dragons. Armed with jet packs and lasers.
Just had my copy delivered. It is NOT the CE. I had sent an email 2 days ago asking amazon if I would for sure be getting the CE and I was told yes. Not real happy right now.

Yeah, I had the same situation.

When exactly did you put in the pre-order? It would at the very least be a little assuring to know as to whether or not people who placed orders earlier on may have better chances of getting their CE's. Or something. I'm grabbing at straws here, Rage crashes the moment I step out of the first damn room you wake up in, and now this. I wanted a play a new game today, damn it!
Two days ago, which is why I sent an email to amazon asking if I would get the CE (they said yes), but I'm sitting here with just the regular game. Trying to use amazon's help chat isn't working out great either. Person just told me I'd get a confirmation email when it is shipped (what...?) So I have no idea what is going on. What am I supposed to do with the copy I already have?!
I think I might have to actually call them up.
OK!!!!! I just got this e-mail reply from amazon.
So i guess they are giving me a 20$ credit. Hopefully it's still the collectors edition they send me.
