    So I got the Large Ember from the Depths and then I talked to Andre who automatically noticed I had it on me and asked for it, so I gave it to him, but now I don't see any additional options when talking to him and he doesn't reference it during regular conversation, am I missing something? What is the benefit of giving it to him? Searched the forum for anything on this but got no results.

    The large ember lets you modify a weapon higher than +5. So get a weapon to +5 reinforcement, it will then move over to the Modify Equipment menu where you can upgrade it to +6. From there it goes back into the normal reinforcement menu until you get it to +10.

    I don't know, but if the game has a character that takes it and makes no mention of it or is affected by it in any way I would not be surprised in the slightest.
