Alright so I was in Darkroot Garden being a forest invader and stuff and I saw something strange near the way the leads to the mushrooms and stuff.

This strange object that looked very much like a bomb with straw-like legs walked away from me as I came towards it. Before this thing disappeared I was able to snap this screenshot. If anyone knows what this strange thing is, please tell me.

You should use the little Link or Image icon in the posting toolbar. Anyway, looks like you encountered a Vagrant which show up in other games when a player dies with a lot of humanity/souls.

Holy shit, I have never seen these things in my entire career of playing this game. This game surprises me with something new every day I swear.

Exactly my thoughts. I am 350+ hours deep and this is completely new to me.

I saw 2 on my first playthrough. The first time as on the narrow ledge in front of the Anor Londo snipers.

I've encountered 2 so far... one in sens fortress behind the wall that the boulder smashes through....

I've seen several in my 500+ hours with the game and I saw both versions. They have this magic missile type attack. Interesting little things. I didn't see my first one till my 3rd playthrough.

Huh so i was not going insane when an Orb was attacking me.

I saw one about 5 hours into my first playthrough and haven't seen one since in my 300+ hours. I hope they are more common in DS2.

@mosespippy: But that's what is kinda neat about them. They're so damn elusive!

In over 1000 hours I've only found two. One in the tar pat in Sen's Fortress and one where Patches pushes you in Tomb of the Giants.

I have seen 1 of those guys across 5 or 6 completions of the game. Spotted one in the painted world in the underground area on my first play through.

Good to know what that thing was, and why it's never come back.

In my numerous playthroughs I only encountered 1, in Blighttown.

I've finished the game 3 or 4 times and I've only seen an evil vagrant once. It dropped down the waterfall where the first hydra was. I can't remember if I just ran passed it or if I killed it. I found it very strange though as usually there was no enemies near the waterfall.
