A first-person shooter in which a soldier from Custer's Last Stand travels through time to save important people in history from those who would meddle with the timeline for their own gain.
Well it had a very tasteful level where you're stuck in Nazi occupied Poland. You're put into a concentration camp and good ol' Dexter gives you a gun and you shoot alot of nazis for ten minutes as recently escaped Russians help you out. And for the record I like pointless one liners so you can piss off. Another level has you shooting a lot of Romans as the volcano at Pompeii is about to EXPLODE! Then many of them time cop types turn up and you have to shoot them too! The ending is the best AND the worst part of the game. The good part is the game ends but it leaves it on such a shitty cliffhanger it made me spit in disgust, it was worse than Halo 2's ending.
As for stomaching it, I only played a couple of levels each day. Then I would cry into my hands for about half an hour and sleep until it was time to play it again. It was quite an experience, playing it was quite like a bad dream one that I couldn't help but keep on playing. I'm not going to say the game is terrible, it's not broken. But it's so disappointing as playing it, I feel like in another dimension if the stars had aligned properly it could have been a good game, such something went very very wrong.
@laserfrog: Must be the same dimension where Sonic the Hedgehog is still relevant, Nintendo left the console business and Mario games tumbled into mediocrity.
But I do agree that the basic premise and some of the ideas in the game were good ones. It's just that the rest of the game is so horrible. It's always a shame to see wasted potential like that.
I actually enjoyed parts of it, but those parts were few and far between. If you have a high pain-threshold I'd say play it. I played it on PC, which it was obviously designed for looking at the 360 version.
