Normally I'm up for spoiling the hell out of a game before I play it, and I'm really looking forward to digging into this article. However, I just started Darksiders 1 and I'm so surprised at how much fun I'm having with it, that I'm going to hold off on this until I'm done.

Or, maybe I just learned my lesson after reading about Spec Ops before finishing it.

There's actually no spoilers until the third to last question.

I guess it's because I just finished scrutinising a bunch of job applications that I picked up on this, but there's tons of spelling errors and missing words.

That aside, awesome work Patrick. A really interesting read.

Pay attention to that concept main menu and the use of the often referred to as "Diablo font". For the uninitiated, its real name is Exocet and mostly gained popularity from that game.

How long did it take to transcribe that whole interview? Good work.

With Darksiders 2 taking place in parallel with Darksiders 1, I'm curious as to how the sequel will end and still manage to keep things interesting.

Excellent interview. The way they should go.

The ending of Darksiders 1 was one of the best I have ever experienced in gaming! Absolutely loved the game. And I am currently loving Darksiders II. I really hope THQ understands what they have here, and perhaps not right away, but hopefully two more games follow. As long as they get done, that's all I care about.

The "Underside of Darksiders" videos is a really cool look behind the veil that most gamers rarely get a chance to see.

I just can't really wrap my head around Darksiders. It's a great concept, but it just seems rather....meh.

Guess it's just not my thing. I'll go back to playing Barbie Explorer or something I guess.....

Great interview. Loads of great insight into the series, I'm hoping that Darksiders II is successful enough to warrant the making of Darksiders III.

It's this kind of in-depth stuff that I'd love to see as a DVD in a special edition, or as a pre-order bonus.

Darksiders was a game that came out of nowhere for me, and then blew me away. While there are so many people who say that it just emulates the styles of different games, I would argue that Darksiders created its own identity by borrowing from various separate franchises. Great game, from what seems to be a great set of guys.

I hated the first boss in Darksiders (Tiamat), thought it was pretty poorly done. You had a definite thing to do in the first phase that involved something you learned in the dungeon. The second phase was like "well I don't know, hit her with the boomerang a bunch of times and attack her when you can but get the fuck out of there when she does the massive AOE attack. The second phase was just kind of dumb and repetitive.

    Anyway, great series.

I thoroughly enjoyed Darksiders when it came out and I played through it, and I'm really looking forward to playing number II. I also really enjoyed this interview, thanks Scoops.

Patrick, throughout the article you are quoting someone named 'Dalton', did you mean 'Donald'?
