    No Wii, no problem. THQ has announced that the follow-up to de Blob, de Blob 2: The Underground, is coming to the Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo DS, and the Wii in spring 2011.

    Not all the console versions will be the same. One specific feature will be coming to just the high-definition consoles: 3D. No word on how this implementation will work in advance of its E3 2010 debut, though.

    De Blob 2 console sees the return of Comrade Black and his "war on color." As de Blob, you'll be responsible, once again, for returning color in Black's wake alongside a mechanical sidekick named Pinky. THQ says that the game will offer new sidequests, free-form painting activities, new power-ups and challenges, and is set to offer both competitive and co-op modes in addition to a campaign mode.

    The DS version will be in 2D, offering traditional platform play that will have users performing wall jumps and slingshot-moves.

    So, yeah, de Blob 2 in 3D. Sure, I'll like watching color hurdling towards my face. Probably.

    So 3D gaming, eh?  I just bought a new TV, no 3D, so I'll be skipping that feature for the foreseeable future.  Not to mention that 3D gives me wicked eyestrain headaches.

    Good deal.  Played the first one on the Wii, it deserved more then what that platform would have given it.

    No mention of Move or Kinect? I guess it's to be expected after the way the first game was played.

    First game looked good but never got round to trying it.

    Good news. The first game didn't really utilize the Wii's motion controls, and a second analogue stick should make the experience a whole lot more enjoyable.

    Hopefully developing it for the other consoles will mean that the Wii version will have a control scheme where you don't have to flick up to jump/down to attack. That was easily the worst thing about the previous game, and there were by far enough buttons on the Wiimote/Nunchuk to just have A as jump, B as attack.

    In any case though, more de Blob? Always good news!

    I never played the first one, despite having looked forward to it before release. I guess I just never got around to it.
    I'll check it out before the sequel comes out though.

    Question: is there anything the first game did that justified being Wii exclusive?

    NIntendo Power had a preview of it recently, and one of the bullet points was "A to jump," lol.

    I always thought that de Blob looked kind of cool despite not having played it. Also, this seems like a game that could actually be helped by 3D.

    @TurboMan:
    Same here, infact i Almost had the chance to play the 1st when i found a preown £5 copy of de blob in my blockbuster and went to the counter, only to have 5mins later disappointment as they could not find the disc to put in the case they take out the cds dvds , ds carts, items these days. so they can't be stolen. One time i went to blockbuster and a stupid Idiot wanted to steal a game/dvd he running out empty handed lol i saw him and went outside BB and Shouted out "YO dude, check the case!" he stopped and checked it then swore and chuck the empty case at me) u would usually know that it's empty if it feels light without any small weight innit? so i returned the case where it belongs and brought sumthing else.
