Started the game and immediately thought there were some pretty serious color/lighting problems. Does anyone know whats going on in this screenshot? Is this my PC or is the lighting actually that shitty?

Yeah that doesn't look right, try messing around with some of the settings.

Look like someone turned on 16bit colors, try moving around a bit more and finding a few more places to take screenshots?

I didn't even touch the video options however. Doesn't look like there's any color options. Anyone know how to fix this?

I've seen this many times on the Steam forums.  It's something to do with your gamma settings, either change them in the in-game video options or edit the gamma in the config.

You only have a problem with the lighting!?

I had a issue at the start of the game where I had to move the bar so I could only faintly see the dead island logo. I turned it all the way up and still could not see it, but I played it on default and it seems ok.

Literally just booted the thing up and immediately had that issue. Really, really digging the game though. Just wish it wasn't so janky (as I'm sure is the general consensus).

I'll fiddle with the gamma settings and report back.

You've probably already done this buy try updating your graphics drivers. It's a wonder what updating them can do.

Yeah they're brand new, grabbed them for Deus Ex, that that definitely crossed my mind.

I set the gamma back to default, I really can't see the logo, but I started the game back up and things definitely look better. Appreciate your help guys.

on the 360 version i had to turn down their brightness slider all the way because the coluor was so over saturated and looked horrible. what i find weird with the lighting effects it that areas where you think should be much brighter are still really dark and hard to see in.
