Dead or Alive 5 is the seventh entry in the Dead or Alive fighting game franchise, introducing a new visual style, new game mechanics, and highly interactive stages.
Seriously, I don't know why Jeff keeps using him as a joke. He was always a background character and was killed off a long time ago. It's like making a huge deal out of Dr. Boskonovitch.
Never played a DOA game (I'm not too much into fighting games... and don't belong to the target audience anyway), but I might get this one, just for fun.
I'm confused as to why people are saying the story is any good. I'm finding it painful. Im at, I dunno, brad Wong and Eliot, I guess, and aside from their marginally interesting fight over the biscuit, every single cutscenes has been slow, boring, and ridiculous. If you haven'tlayed the game yet, don't let people pretend that it's somehow "crazy " or super Japanese, it's just that character a randomly bumps into character b, sometimes literally, and them you hear some terrible dialog like " you'd better APPOLOGIZE!" and then you're fighting. Now do that more than a dozen times. What's fun or funny about that? It makes complete sens. It's just terrible in the least interesting of ways.
