Dead Rising 2: Case Zero
Game » consists of 2 releases. Released Aug 31, 2010
The downloadable prologue to Dead Rising 2 (exclusive to the Xbox 360) gives players a taste of the new "Combo Weapon" mechanic, as Chuck Greene must escape the zombie-infested rural town of Still Creek while preventing his daughter from succumbing to the zombie plague.
Capcom Delays Dead Rising 2: Case Zero In Japan
Continuing to be cagey about this ordeal, Capcom Japan didn't state what the game's new release date is or how this problem might affect other versions of the exclusive Xbox 360 content. But it seems safe to assume that if the Japanese version of Case Zero's demo is somehow broken, the others are as well.
We've contacted Capcom to ask what's up with all of this.
Dead Rising: Case Zero is an ambitious downloadable title. Built with the Dead Rising 2 engine, it supposedly fills the gap between the two Dead Rising games. It takes place two years after the events of Dead Rising and a whopping three years before the September-bound Dead Rising 2. You'll control Chuck Greene, the protagonist of the forthcoming second game, in a quest to save his daughter from a zombie bite. All of Dead Rising 2's systems, including the weapon forging, will be useable whenever it launches.
UPDATE: The English version of the game has not been delayed, according to a Capcom representative who talked to Joystiq. Expect it tomorrow!

indefinitely right?
(Quest done! Yay!)
However it totally is sad about this mess. Dead Rising 2 has been delayed enough that I don't know how much I care about it anymore. Reminds me of Crackdown 2, except crackdown wasn't delayed, it was just stuck in its old ways.
Pretty sure this could be better than the orginal and was looking forward to seeing what the gameplay was like first hand so its a shame but I think its better that when it comes out that it's bug free as it would put many off the full retail game if this DLC was broken.
I hope it's still out as scheduled for tomorrow here in North America. I wanted to give it some time before my week gets way too hectic to even think about video games.
I've been seeing people complain about its length vs. price on various internet message boards. $5 for about 2 hours (not including replaying and just dicking around) isn't bad at all, especially since I have bought 6 hour games for the full price tag. I guess that's just the stigma attached to downloadable games at the moment.
a French website directly contacted Capcom, who replied that the game is still to be released on schedule in Europe. The same could be expected for NA.
" Free content isnt rated in Japan and as such has to be suitable for all ages, so they probably just forgot to take out a dildo or something "This. Apparently the strong language was not correctly censored, so it's probably not going to affect the rest of the world.
NA and EU getting Case 0 as scheduled, straight from Capcom themselves

You may have read this morning that Dead Rising 2: Case Zero has been delayed in Japan, and I can confirm that this is true. However, Case Zero will be releasing tomorrow as planned here in the West.
Once again, the Japanese delay does not affect the release date for North American and European territories.
Stay tuned later today and tomorrow for lots of free codes that we'll be giving out here on Capom Unity!

Thanks for the update SockLobster.
Kotaku says in its report that "elements were discovered in the trial versions that are not appropriate for the free demo [of Case Zero]," which sounds a lot like Capcom found a full-game unlock bug, but that's just my speculation.
I'd be pretty amazed to hear that Capcom found a "full-game unlock bug" when this DLC is a prequel to the events that occur in DR2, and contains NOTHING that will be seen in the retail version. RESEARCH. It's never a bad idea to know what you're writing about.
When I read this post earlier today, I was sad faced. However, when I read the update, I became happy faced (but I am still sad faced for our Japanese Giant Bombers.)
I was going to Go INSAne when i heard the Delay. But got more calmed down when i heard that the english version will not be delayed i was like WTF when i heard an unlock then heard a Cursing language thing but both do not make sense since Case Zero is a Full game in it self and its rated M so it should have swearing then was told that it was the japenese version so i was like OHHHHH.
I am glad its not delayed in America but it stinks for fans in Japan. I am looking forward to checking it out myself.
i doubt the delay is from technical issues or content that is not good for a free version. i bet you that the japanese rating board failed the game for being to violent and refused to let it in without specific content being removed. sure its japan. have sex and play porn games all you want but fuck all if you get to jam a zombie into a woodchipper thats just too extreme...

what?
I'm so happy it fills in the gap between these games. Because, you know, I really want to know what happened to that one zombie.
