Dead Space 2
Game » consists of 18 releases. Released Jan 25, 2011
Dead Space 2 is the sequel to the 2008 surprise hit Dead Space. The no-longer-silent Isaac Clarke finds himself trapped on a city-sized space station called the Sprawl, which has been overtaken by another Necromorph infestation.
I just watched Dead Space: Aftermath
Is it worth it?
Only if you are a fan of Dead Space, by that I mean you play every game and wants more dead space, it doesn't add anything to the story, if anything more confusion.
Some cool stuff in it?
Will it have the same anime style as Dead Space Downfall?
Yes and no, this one follows a new way, very similar to what the Dante's Inferno movie did.
The present is in low texture 3d cgi, and the past switches anime style every 20-25 min or so
Examples of how the style changes over time:
There were definitely parts of the movie where I got confused of who was who, when the art style changed, however the voices were same.
I have improved the topic's quality a bit, since Brad took the time to read it :)
I hope the pictures don't break any faint copyright laws..

Pass. I've fallen way down the rabbit hole of Dead Space IP nonsense the last couple of weeks, but this just sounds cheap and shoddy. And this is coming from someone who watched and kind of enjoyed DS Downfall last weekend.
Well, maybe if this shows up on Netflix streaming...
Man I have totally lost track with all the Dead Space side projects they've done ever since the first game was released. They're really overdoing it I think. I thought Dead Space was one of the best action games I've ever played, but in no way does it make me want to play a puzzle based minigame collection, an on-rails shooter, and watch some cartoons. I just want the same old over the shoulder gorefest.
The anime stuff looks great.
Sadly, I never saw Downfall, nor have I read the books. I feel like a bad Dead Space fan.
*EDIT* Checked out this clip also. The CGI isn't super advanced, but the lip syncing seems pretty good and it has its own style. I think I'm going to have to pick this up.
I watched it the other day. Though it was expected to be cheezy and the 3d animation was sub par, I found the style of story telling to be quite interesting. Each character is interviewed and tells their side of the story. What makes this interesting to me is that the art style, character design, character interactions, and character personalities differ between each person's point of view.
I would say it's worth watching if you are into Dead Space. Runtime is only a little over an hour so you won't be wasting too much time.
As much as I like all the pieces that make the Dead Space games, including the story, I find them extremely less compelling when taken out of the interactive form. Not sure why that is the case, I'm one of those people who have read every Halo book, but I can't get myself to care about these spin-offs. The universe is really cool, but if I'm not playing in it, I'm not interested.

I don't really remember much about Downfall except corpse monsters. And I think there was a scene in the hydroponics lab like in the game.
I saw Downfall back in the day and I saw Aftermath yesterday as well, and by the end of both movies my thoughts were exactly the same:
"Why is this so crappy when the actual universe it's drinking from is so rich?" :(

I read Dead Space: Martyr. Badly written book but does give you some good insight into the original black marker and the way Altman really was.
I knew the movie would be...wellllll....not good? going into it and I think that helped me enjoy it as much as I could. It's pretty cheesy dialogue and the characters fall into some deeeeep, deeeeeeeeeep stereotypes, but as a means for filling in some smaller gaps and fleshing out an important DS2 character, it wasn't worthless.
Also, scary anime boobs.
it's OK. I bought it. I am kind of collecting all DS related materials nowadays. I don't care animation quality. when I watched it, I was more focus on story line. how this horrible thing has been occurred. Nolan Stross is who-did-it. he made a big mistake to spread necros all over the place. he is only a key to solve that problem along with Issac Clarke. in the end of movie, there is hospital coffin like little box. stross is in there next to unconscious Issac Clarke. that's how DS 2 began.
