For those who do not remember PS3 version comes with a port of dead space extraction, but the PC version will obviously sport better visuals.
Dead Space 2
Game » consists of 18 releases. Released Jan 25, 2011
Dead Space 2 is the sequel to the 2008 surprise hit Dead Space. The no-longer-silent Isaac Clarke finds himself trapped on a city-sized space station called the Sprawl, which has been overtaken by another Necromorph infestation.
What platform are you buying for and why?
Probably 360 version for points and because I much prefer the 360 controller for shooters like Dead Space (I'm not a fan of Dual Shock 3 when it comes to using it for shooters or most action games in general). Though depending on how well it runs on the PC, I may get the PC version.
PS3, I only buy xbox exclusives for mine.
Actually all I own on xbox is Super Meat Boy, Deadly Premonition, Forza 3, and Mass Effect.
Not to say I wont be picking up gears 3 with some live however.
If you pre-order on Amazon, you get a free code for Ignition! Seems like a good deal to me.
E: oh, and 360 for me.
I'm personally renting it... one playthrough and then maybe a purchase when it's on sale at the end of the year. It isn't one I'd replay over and over so for me, the value proposition of something like MvC3 and LBP2 both outweigh it right now. If I cared about multiplayer, it may have changed it - but that's not why I would play DS2. I have the first on PS3 from launch... so it would be that if I were purchasing - Extraction makes it even easier of a choice.
360, because that's what I have the original Dead Space on and I'm anal about that kind of stuff... But I have to admit, I'm super bummed that the PS3 special edition is getting Extraction and the 360 isn't. That almost made me switch over. Almost. I figure I'll just pick up Extraction on the Wii sometime.
PS3. I don't own a 360, and I generally would rather play horror games on a console. Also, Extraction.
360. While I do have a PS3, I get all my multiplats for my 360. Extraction doesn't sound like my cup of tea and I have my original save (100%ed absolutely everything in the game) on the 360 and apparently you get the Plasma Cutter from it or something.
@Slayer22: Even if it is the lead platform there are virtually no differences in games these days and when there is, it's usually in the 360's favor :|
" Depends, is the Move controller required to play extraction on PS3? Can I play with a regular controller? "That is a great question that i would like to know as well. I assume move only, it would be pretty stupid just moving the cursor around on screen with the analog sticks compared to using the move.

360 because I like the controller better, I actually know people who might play it on the 360 and achievements. I had it pre-ordered on the PS3 but I changed (just today actually) to the 360 because I am more comfortable with that console.
PS3.
I always felt like the Dead Space controls better on a PS3 (yes I have played on both platforms PS3/360). I Platinumed Dead Space on my PS3 and will go for another Platinum on my PS3 with Dead Space 2.
Plus, Dead Space Extraction (although I don't care about the Move support since I don't have Move (well yet anyway)).
" Depends, is the Move controller required to play extraction on PS3? Can I play with a regular controller? "You can play it with a regularly controller, yes.
I have the first game on PS3, and while I do generally like the 360 controller better for 1st/3rd-person shooters, the save game file bonus along with Extraction made me change my pre-order from 360 to PS3. Plus due to certain technical reasons I have access to 5.1 audio on my PS3 and not my 360, so that's an added bonus when it comes to a game that relies a lot on its sound design to create its atmosphere.
Most games like????? None." PS3. All I Own, and it seems like this is the lead platform like most EA games nowadays "
@s7evn said:
Why would you do that? There's no save transfer so it doesn't matter what platform you played the first on." I'm undecided. I played the first on the 360, but I could probably pick the first up for the PC or PS3 for fairly cheap and play through those if I wanted. "
PS3, getting the collectors edition with extraction and I don't really use my 360 anymore, especially since my live ran out I play multiplayer games on PS.
360. I own all 3 but here are my reasons:
Vastly superior online experince, proper achievement system, better user interface, more confortable and refined controller D-pad not withstanding.
My 360 is as loud as a cracken but it's just a whole lot more fun to play games on. I use my PS3 solely for the occasional exclusives that give me no other choice.
Oh and I use the PC for this. And for StarCraft 2.
Even though i own all three ways to play i have to choose 360. one because thats my favorite console becuase of the games the controller and the party feature with friends. two because its what i owned the first one on so it only feels right, three limited edition for 360 you get a plamsa cutter replica which is badass in my opinion. four i am an achievement junky. but for all ps3 lovers i do still love my ps3(Uncharted 1&2 and LBP) and to all pc fanboys i love the feel of games on pc but the xbox ways out all pros over the pc except for mmos.
Also im supers toked cus i got a sweet deal and got the limited edition for only 60 bucks thanks to amazon.

Aren't they just the same dang thing, dressed up slightly different on the PS3? Also, do you mean a better OS UI or game UI? Seems weird that that would really be a huge reason considering on both getting straight to the game is pretty seamless and quick.
I'm not sure yet. 360 has points and i'll be able to play with my friends. But PS3 comes with Extraction which could be cool. PC looks better and it would be cheaper. Fuck it's hard to decide.
Edit: I'll go with 360, that's what all my friends play on and it's usually my platform of choice.
