I appreciate that the Endurance Run is something which, conceptually, is designed to be endured.
It's supposed to be difficult.
It's a challenge and a commitment as much to watch as it must be to play. Especially when that game is, by all accounts, fucking shit bananas.
I'm impressed and pleased by the decision to begin a new series of the Endurance Run. Watching the giantbomb staff goofing around is outlandishly enjoyable. I understand the concept of deliberately picking a terrible game to play through and I appreciate that it may be ripe for comedy. But really, Deadly Premonition? After about 10 hours of laughing at how absurd this game is, the joke starts to wear thin. My own feelings of fatigue and lack of patience can be seen shadowed in the players. This game is clearly taking it's toll on all parties involved. I could have watched a quick-look of Deadly Premonition and got my fill of goofy "Look at the terrible animation!" jokes. I like Jeff and Vinny but i'm not going to watch them trudge round the lumber mill ever again.

Quite simply the game has no charm or sense of humour of it's own to compliment that of the narration. We as the audience rely almost completely on the feedback we receive from the players and they are quite obviously fatigued and bored of the game they are playing. An Endurance Run works best when the game is full of conversation pieces, not long empty roads and badly textured hallways like Deadly Premonition. It also works when the story has a form of progression to which some form of rationality can be applied. Deadly Premonition, so far, has failed to demonstrate this. It's almost.... too bad?
I appreciate there is honour and integrity at stake.
I understand that a commitment has been made to play this game from start to finish. But please, for the love of god, end this now. There is no shame in quitting this abortion of a videogame. Please, Giantbomb. You need to stop playing so that I can stop watching.
Thanks For Reading
Love Sweep
