Demonik was featured heavily in the 2006 film Grandma's Boy. Alex, the title character, is a game tester and is producing a game in his spare time. Alex's grandmother becomes quite adept at the game, and proves pivotal in proving Alex's game programming when the movie's antagonist JP attempts to take credit. When shown during scenes, the footage was of the unreleased Demonik's gameplay and was depicted as being played on an Xbox.

The game was set to have the player take on the role of the ultimate villain, while the movie would follow the hero.
