I just finished Demon's Souls.  It took me about 29 hrs to beat.  I found a glitch in the game.  If you quit the game at the moment of death, you WILL NOT return to the beginning of the level.  Instead, you will return to the area in the level (in a safe area, mostly) with all your items and souls.  Here's how you do it.  As soon as your guy is about to die, or at the moment of death,  tap the PS button (that's the big cirular button in the middle of your controller).  Choose "Quit Game" and select "Yes."  You must do this before the game saves . I think I mistimed my "Quit" and returned (accidentally) to the Nexus 2x throughout the entire game.

You mean at the exact moment of death or when you see the message "YOU DIED"? Since this is an online game they might patch this in th future.

Doesn't have to be online and i beat it in 38-40 hours without exploiting like that.

I would assume that unplugging your ethernet cable (if you're using a wire connection) right before you get the "you died" message would do the same thing except you won't have to completely restart the game from the XMB.

Ah the loophole. My dad had done the same thing-except it was Freecell, not Demon's Souls, and he would shut down and restart the computer again to make sure it wouldn't count as a loss.

Trust me pal, that you are ruining the experience. Allant is the final boss. Doran is an optional fight.

Trust me pal, If you die in a boss battle, wouldn't you rather begin the level, right outside the fog where the Boss is located?  Using the glitch does not make the battle any easier.  I used the glitch over and over on Old King Allant and it STILL took me 50 tries.  I am just trying to save people from the frustration. "

I didn't use the glitch, i beat it in 60 hours first time, and it was worth it. But if you fell you need to cheat i guess that what your going to do.

people do that in games regardless of whether or not it's hard. "

If glitching the game allows someone to enjoy it more, then let them glitch.  Not everyone wants to bang there head against that particular wall over and over again, and if this allows them to have fun with a game they might otherwise have never tried whats the harm?

The game autosaves everything and it saves based on the last item used, so if you do the glitch, it'll probably take you back to where you used the last item.

I'm so intrigued by this game. I don't know if I want to play something that's so punishing you would be forced to do that, but on the on other hand its also part of the game's allure.

I don't feel the game is that punishing. The two things lost by dying is you losing time and having to trek somewhere. Which is made up by the fact that the worlds are divided in slices, so if you beat one of the bosses, you can start up later further on in the level. And the second thing is souls ( money) which by this point it stopped being frustrated cause I became aware if I'm going into a boss, spend the souls prior to that, then fight the boss. If this is a glitch, I don't necessarily see it that useful. The people that tend to kill you the most are battles you went into unexpecting death. Like when I fought the sword guy in 4-1 for the first time, I didn't expect his swing to be that powerful.

 Although I just start playing demon's Souls because I didn't have a PS3 when it came out. It has been out here in Asia for about half a year now. This glitch had been widely spread and used by people. However, some people claim that there is a possibility that the save file might be corrupted by this method and render the profile useless. Use it at your own risk.
Nowadays people tend to use another glitch which requires you to clear your game update and reset it to 1.01, but gives infinite souls to boost-level charater to 712. Then download 1.04 update again(world tendency is much easier to change in 1.04), use this charater to button-mash through the campaign and get every equipment and upgrade they want, then exploit the level draining mechanism to level down the charater to 150, since lv150 is considered the best level for a duel and easiest level to find co-op players.
However, the developer fixed the glitch with updates, and I 've heard the US version is the newest v1.04 out of the box. So the glitch probably won't work.

That's defeating the purpose of the game.  If you are afraid of dying and learning through making mistakes, don't bother getting this.
