That sounds correct, but I think we'll get the announcement of the PC version when the first expansion hits and it will drop day and date with the second expansion.

Unless they specifically say there will never be a PC version, it's very likely that they'll release one sometime in the near future.

From what ive seen of Destiny id be all over that shit, cant play FPS games with a controller so if they release a PC version at some point im game.

Have to agree with OP on that potential timetable too, 1 year between the console and PC release seems about right, most PC folk will probably not jump in day one because of the delay though..still a sale is a sale even if its during a sale at that point.

We all know Activision likes money so I always thought it was odd they didn't get someone to make the pc port now instead of a year or two later. It's not like having a pc port is somehow going to decrease sales after all. As for when it'll come out I'm thinking it'll take at least a year unless they already have someone working on it.

I think the difference here, is Activision. Microsoft had little reason to throw away platform exclusivity for a PC version.

PC Users:

- are more likely to spend on microtransactions.

- 100% of expansion/microtransaction profits go directly to Activision.

So I expect Activision to hire on someone to port the game.

A port won't be announced until they milk all of the console sales they can. I wouldn't expect an announcement for PC version until summer 2015 with a holiday 2015 release. My guess is based on absolutely nothing. Isn't it already the most preordered game in a long time? The incentive to throw it on PC is high, but not anytime soon, as Sony has their hands all over this to push it as a "Best on PS4" kind of deal.

It might end up on PC but bungie won't be the ones porting it.

Yeh, also given the potential for this game to be a bit of a next gen system seller (they have the themed console bundles and everything) I think a year or more sounds about right.

I mean if this game turns out to be great, that might almost be enough to influence me into grabbing a console if there is no impending PC release.

I think the fact that Destiny is coming out on both current and last generation systems makes it likely that we'll see a PC version, it indicates that the engine is one which (may) be ported with relative ease, so that being the case then not making a PC version is leaving money on the table.

Lots of wishful thinking in this thread. 1 I think if it was coming to PC, why not announce it? Does both MS and Sony pay to keep it off PC? Seems unlikely. 2 Bungie doesn't do PC. Where is the Halo collection for PC?

Bungie isn't doing the MCC so I don't see your point. "Bungie doesn't do PC" is meaningless. Halo 3, ODST, Reach not being on PC is a publisher decision.

There are already 4 versions of the game coming out, it's entirely possible that a PC version comes next year after they finish those. The port from XB1/PS4 to PC would be easy because of their architecture, as well. It seems like you wanted to say "wishful thinking" without any thinking at all in your end.

Im more curious to see when reviews hit. Definitely shows how confident they are if the embargo is before release date vs on or after.

They will be pushing console sales with this as well, so it behooves them to keep quiet about the PC version.

There will undoubtedly be one though. How could they not? It's Activision. Destiny will probably end up on my Casio calculator watch.

Seeing all the hype and all their lofty claims about how you can't even finish it because theres just SO much to do and how hard raids will be I keep thinking this will be a spectacular disappointment.

Activision being the publisher... I agree this makes the port more likely. No one has explained why they would want to keep it secret, though.

The port may or may not be "easy". The control scheme for mouse/keyboard can require a lot of tuning. It depends.

Also this is an always online game requiring servers to be kept running. That has to factor into the decision to port it.

Oh, you added more stuff. How was I supposed to know that the wishful thinking was free DLC without you saying it? Plus you're still wrong. Late ports include the DLC a lot of the time. I see Dead Rising 3 on Steam right now and it includes a lot of the DLC.

I mean, they're making two Playstation versions, if that's not a clue that your expectations about Bungie don't matter, I don't know what is.

I'm predicting a March - September 2015 time frame for the pc release.

Based on how often they get asked and talk about a PC version, I feel like it's guaranteed to happen. I give a year at the earliest. Two at the most.

I reaaaly hope they use Steamworks for everything like friendlists, multiplayer and all that. Bungie accounts are all tied to other account systems anyway, why not add Steam to that list.

About 95 people who voted so far don't think there is a PC version of Destiny coming at some point, but we've only heard from one of them as to why they think that is.

Bungie was developing games for years on PC & Mac long before doing anything on Xbox. Also, Halo CE & Halo 2 are on PC.

Most likely there's a PC version coming, but I doubt I'm gonna care about it anyway.

It would be crazy not to release it on PC just because there's money to be made. I mean, the PC is a much more viable platform now compared to 5-10 years ago.

I think around this time next year a GOTY edition will come out with all the DLC that has been made up to that point.

I think there is a better chance of the sequel coming to PC.

My wife and I own a PC and a PS4. So in the absence of splitscreen (goddamnit), I would very much like a cross platform play PC port to happen. Going on nothing but a hunch, I think it'll find its way to PC, but the cross platform play will be out. Which leaves me with very little interest in the product because I just don't care without a local multiplayer option.

There will be a PC version. Still I have a PS4 and this is as good a reason as any to dust it off and get some playtime with it since there hasn't been a ton of compelling exclusives out for it.

Maybe they're waiting for a less contested release date. I mean if they released now on the PC, they would have to compete with.. uh.. ArcheAge and like Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! and Hatoful Boyfriend and Dead Rising 3.
