Don't be crazy. Destiny doesn't have any proper nouns in the game, so such a mistake is impossible.

I occasionally see it as Derg, and, in one rare case I mistook it for derp. The internet has fully infected my brain and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

@noblenerf: Yup, everything is named just a noun. The only actual names in the game (atleast in the beta) are the legendary enemies with randomly generated names.

I always read it as "Deng" as in basketball player Luol Deng. Something about the kerning on that font must screw my brain up.

No, but the Gamespot Now Playing stream (here) had Mary Kish, Chris Watters and Shaun McGinnis on it and one of them thought it said Doug at first and then they were making Doug jokes the rest of the 4 hour stream. So I'll never forget that people COULD make that mistake, but I haven't personally.

Yes, actually. On top of that and me and my brother ended up calling the Shanks "Skanks" when we first saw them and now we're just stuck with it.

Yes! I actually laughed out loud when I saw this topic because I was playing it yesterday and said to my brother, "Sometimes I think it says 'Doug', but it says 'Dreg'"

I actually started the Beta sometime after I saw this thread title pop up on the forums. I thought this thread would predispose me to read "Dreg" as "Doug"... but I couldn't do it.

Maybe it had the opposite effect and caused me to expect "Dreg" so I could only read it properly afterwards?

Omg yes! Made my time with the beta alo more entertaining to my friends calling out where dougs are or like hearing "damnit doug killed me again".

No. Having said that I am going to make an effort to start calling them Doug in the hopes that it catches on in my head. Yelling obscenities at 'Doug' whenever I see one would make dealing with them pretty entertaining.
